This is a central course at Gion Karyo. As the seasons change from spring to summer, so do our ingredients. We take great care in selecting delicious items to serve you each day. This course features the vibrant hassun, which is a highlight of Gion Karyo. To allow you to enjoy seasonal delicacies throughout the year, we offer a monthly kaiseki meal using the finest ingredients available at that time. Due to sourcing arrangements, we kindly ask that reservations be made at least one day in advance, as same-day bookings are difficult to accommodate.

The first floor of Gion Karyō features counter seating. All meals are prepared in the kitchen located behind the counter. We hope you enjoy the process of cooking, the delicious aromas that fill the air, and the conversations with the chefs, from the appetizers to the rice cooked in the traditional way.
Food Original Kamado Rice
To finish off your course, we serve rice cooked in our traditional oven. During lunch, you can enjoy the monthly special, while at dinner, you can choose from five different options. The rice, cooked in the pot, has a glossy appearance and a chewy texture, allowing you to savor the delicious flavor of the rice and the nostalgic "okoge" (crispy rice). If there's any left, you can take it home as onigiri, so please enjoy your meal until the very end!
