A few days before I visited this place, I had dessert at a Spanish restaurant called "anchoa" in Kamakura,
where they used this citrus fruit called "Harumi" and the chef explained it in detail.
I was very intrigued, and since I had business in the Manazuru area a few days later,
I decided to stop by.
This small shop is located in a corner where several drive-in-style eateries line the street.
Inside the store, there was a sign that said, "Royal Family's Gift Citrus Production Farm."
Next to it was a blackboard listing the various places where their products are delivered.
Their citrus fruits are used in many renowned restaurants and patisseries.
They produce a variety of citrus fruits throughout the year,
and the shop sells their juices and jams.
The citrus juices are mostly straight, single variety rather than blends.
On this day, I purchased the following items:
1. Enoshima Blood Orange Straight Juice - JPY 700
It comes in a small bottle of about 200ml, which makes it quite expensive,
but it is indeed delicious.
I preferred the Setoda blood orange juice I had last year, though.
2. Nishinokaori Straight Juice - JPY 700
It has a gentle acidity and depth of flavor.
3. Enoshima Mikan Jam - JPY 600
With lemon included, the balance of sweetness and acidity is very nice.
There are still many varieties here that I haven't heard of before,
which keeps my interest piqued.
I definitely want to visit again.
