I hope my review serves as a useful reference for everyone, but primarily, I intend it as a personal record, so you can expect straightforward impressions.
I'm not a gourmet, so I can't provide detailed tasting notes. I don't meticulously check on details like the staff or the restroom. Sometimes my thoughts become lengthy (and this has already gotten long), so feel free to skip ahead, haha.
The star ratings are quite rough estimations.
⭐→ I never want to return.
⭐⭐→ I wouldn’t recommend it to others.
Typically, I don’t have those ratings, but if I do, it means I must have had an unpleasant experience. There was a time when detailed reviews I wrote got deleted, so lack of explanation might actually be scarier for those looking at the ratings.
⭐⭐⭐→ It was tasty, thank you for the meal.
⭐⭐⭐⭐→ I would like to come back if the opportunity arises.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐→ I definitely want to come back!
That’s the gist of it. I love exploring new restaurants, so I seldom become a repeat customer, which is why I rarely give five stars!
On June 12, 2021, Saturday at 12:30 PM, I visited during lunch with a friend to try this restaurant I’d been curious about. I heard from my friend that their lunch is delicious, so we decided to check it out together.
Even though it was Saturday lunch, it was not crowded, which was a relief. There turned out to be more seats than it appeared from the outside. However, out of the three box seats, two were already taken, and we were seated in the middle. I hoped that instead of filling in gaps, the staff might space out the customers more comfortably since the other seats were quite empty.
At first, only the box seats were occupied, but gradually, more people started to arrive. There was also a counter for take-out orders, and quite a few customers were utilizing that service.
We ordered:
- Steamed Chicken Salad
- Yurinchi (Crispy Garlic Chicken)
- Nikujiru Gyoza
- Grilled Chashu
Although they have a lunch menu, we opted for a la carte. Everything was meat! Haha.
**Steamed Chicken Salad**:
The pieces of chicken were large, which made me happy. Usually, I have the impression of these salads being shredded and scant, but this was quite satisfying on its own. Plus, they offered more dressing if needed. It’s true that sometimes there isn’t enough dressing, but it can be a bit awkward to ask. Here, they let me know in advance, which was nice. That said, there was plenty of dressing already applied.
**Yurinchi**:
Crispy and hearty! It was delicious. However, I prefer a version where the crispy coating is soaked in sauce, so I probably wouldn’t order it again.
**Gyoza**:
We had six large pieces. Even though they mentioned the gyoza had flavor, I unconsciously dipped them in sauce. While they were indeed tasty on their own, I just can't resist adding sauce. One thing to note is that they are not just claiming to be juicy; they truly are. So when I tried to take a bite, the juices ran out into the sauce. Plus, when you take a bite, the juices squirt out! Such a waste! So, even though they are large, I recommend having them in one bite.
**Chashu**:
My friend particularly recommended this chashu. It was huge! The grilling added a delightful smokiness the moment it entered my mouth, and it was very tender. Both the gyoza and chashu seemed perfect for pairing with drinks.
I look forward to coming back with friends once COVID has settled down. I want to try more of their menu.
Thank you for the meal!
