On this day, I went for a walk in Shonan.
I arrived at this Hawaiian cafe.
It's located on the 1st floor of Chigasaki Southern Beach Hills, right in front of Chigasaki Southern Beach.
This tenant changes frequently, but this Hawaiian cafe opened on July 17, 2025.
The facade remains unchanged from previous establishments.
I entered the cafe after climbing a few steps, passing by the terrace seating.
Inside, there are four counter seats stretching towards the back in front of the kitchen on the right, and on the left, there’s a sofa for four and four tables for two.
I was seated at the counter.
I glanced at the menu on the table, which featured typical Hawaiian cafe dishes like garlic shrimp, poke bowls, loco moco, and mochiko chicken.
So, I decided to order:
- Iced Coffee: JPY 440
- Garlic Shrimp SPICY SPICY: JPY 1,705
- Discount: -JPY 5
Total: JPY 2,140
I ordered iced coffee to look sophisticated, but later noticed they had lemon water available, which would have been just fine!
The cafe is run by three staff members: two men and one woman.
The atmosphere inside is resort-like, especially with Chigasaki Southern Beach right in front.
The view of Chigasaki Southern Beach from inside, through the terrace seating, is stunningly picturesque.
I’m glad I came on a nice day; in fact, I came because the weather was good!
The background music includes a mix of Japanese pop, Western pop, and Hawaiian-style guitar instrumentals.
The iced coffee was served in about three minutes, and the garlic shrimp arrived in about twelve minutes.
- Iced Coffee:
Served with a sustainable metal straw.
It’s smooth and quite tasty.
- Garlic Shrimp SPICY SPICY:
Served on a light gray plate.
The rice is shaped like a dome and garnished with parsley.
It has a volume of about 180g, cooked a bit firmer than usual, and is quite delicious.
The accompanying salad includes tomatoes, mizuna, baby greens, and lettuce, dressed with Caesar dressing, and is also tasty.
The shoestring French fries are well-seasoned and could be enjoyed on their own.
And the main dish, garlic shrimp:
There are four large shrimp, perfectly cooked with a nice bounce, seasoned with garlic and black pepper, which is delicious. It truly lives up to the SPICY SPICY name.
All this for JPY 2,140. I took my number to the register for payment, using touchless PayPay.
First and foremost, the location is fantastic.
While it might be a bit pricey for a casual lunch, it feels much nicer than eating at a beach hut as a vacation lunch.
It was a great meal! (As of July 2025, no points earned.)
