デカ盛りかつ美味しいブランチ : Cafe Domusshu Himeji Ten

A Delicious and Hearty Brunch

It's well-known that the food fighter Gal Sone made a name for herself in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture during her younger days.

When it comes to large-portion places in Himeji, this is the spot.

Cafe Domusshu.

There was already a long line forming.

Waiting outside the store,

waiting inside the store,

and finally, I was able to take a seat.

This is one of the places we visit when the kids come home.

They offer a morning service that is just the price of a drink,
but of course, I opted for the morning menu set.

Their signature dish is the Almond Toast.

This restaurant is said to be the birthplace of Almond Toast.

After placing my order, we waited,
and the lemon tea arrived.

My partner ordered a candy-drink.

Besides the Almond Toast, there’s also a sandwich.

The Almond Toast is simply amazing—
it's slightly sweet and topped with crunchy almond crushes, wonderfully complemented by a special bread made just for this almond butter!

This one is the Cherry, a hot sandwich.

I went for Eldanjyu.

By the way, "Eldanjyu" means "Angel Wings" in French.

Could it be because the egg toast is shaped like wings?

We also had an omelet,
a potato salad,
with shredded cabbage and lettuce on the side.

And I must mention this—
the Napoli-style spaghetti.

After finishing everything on my plate,
I realized that there was more than enough Napoli-style spaghetti for one!

It was truly a great meal.

I wonder if Gal Sone has visited this restaurant too?

Cafe Domusshu, Himeji

While it's often said that Nagoya's morning service is amazing,
I personally feel that the coffee shops in Banshu surpass it.

Cafe Domusshu,
A coffee shop (restaurant) with three locations in Himeji.

It is said to be the birthplace of Himeji's local specialty, almond butter.

During my recent tour in Aichi Prefecture, I couldn't try the famous Nagoya dish, ankake spaghetti.

Surprisingly, you can enjoy it here at Domusshu!

They have intriguing menu items like Monster Udon, Curry Spaghetti, and Neapolitan Spaghetti.

This is how the morning service works:

You can enjoy a morning service with just the drink price, or opt for a morning set.

I didn’t hesitate to choose the Candy set.

I ordered a hot lemon tea.

Then a special morning plate was served.

The popular Candy set features almond toast,
a sandwich,
an omelet,
cabbage salad,
and potato salad.

On top of it all, there’s spaghetti (which is not served warm).

The specialty almond toast at Domusshu is incredible!

It has a hint of sweetness, with a delightful combination of crunchy almond crush and specially made bread just for this almond butter.

The portion of the Neapolitan spaghetti is quite generous.

When spread out on the plate, it’s easily enough for one person.

It was a great meal.

Cafe Domusshu Himeji Location

The Cafe Domusshu in Himeji went viral for its Almond Toast.

I decided to visit again after a while.

Despite it being 8 AM, the spacious cafe was packed.

I ordered the most popular item, the Candy.

With a name like Candy, it must be something cute, right?

I chose an iced lemon tea to go with it.

And here it is!

Where’s the cuteness? It looks like a hefty serving of Banshu's specialty!

The highlight of the Candy: Almond Butter Toast.

This Almond Butter Toast became famous on the secret "Kenmin Show."

It’s made with crushed, mildly sweet, and crispy almonds blended into almond butter, spread onto a special bread made just for the Almond Butter Toast.

Gotta get plenty of vegetables.

Spaghetti Neapolitan

This portion is insane!

It’s probably even more than what you get as a single spaghetti dish at other places.

Oh man, I overate.
