On January 2nd, 2023, Monday, at 5:00 PM,
I came to explore the area around Shinmaebashi Station.
My first stop was a place boasting 24-hour unmanned sales of fried chicken called 'Uminchu,'
but it turns out they open on January 5th, so that was a letdown!
The concept of 24-hour unmanned sales seems off!
So off I went to Shoya, Shinmaebashi branch.
Upon entering, I was guided to a counter seat near the entrance.
Every time a customer came in, a cool breeze wafted through!
Looking at the menu,
Simmered dish - JPY 350
Assorted Yakitori (5 sticks) - JPY 700
- Chicken thigh skewer
- Tsukune skewer
- Green onion skewer
- Bonjiri skewer
- Nankotsu skewer
I also ordered additional grilled pork:
- Kashira skewer - JPY 150
- Shiro skewer - JPY 150
- Harami skewer - JPY 150
Totaling to JPY 1500.
The assorted yakitori was great; they were all delicious beyond the ordinary!
Next, I tried the grilled pork... but the kashira and harami skewers were overcooked and tough!
The shiro skewer was fine, though.
However, it was quite cold inside, so I decided to leave.
It was a great meal.
