I was searching for places to eat near Kasuga Mall when I found a black pork specialty restaurant from Kagoshima.
As I drove on Route 5 towards Tenjin from Chikushino, I spotted Kasuga Mall on my left.
Before reaching it, I turned left at the Zebio sports store and then left again just before Nishimatsuya.
Around 100 meters ahead on my left, there is a hidden gem called Bonguu.
I almost missed it on my first attempt because it is not very easy to spot! ^_
Upon entering, the restaurant had private rooms and dugout seating, creating a very Asian ambiance.
For a company welcome party, we ordered a hot pot course in a private room for six people.
There were several types of hot pots, including white and black, and we chose a half-and-half with black pork and cheese.
Since we made a reservation in advance, our dishes and drinks were served almost immediately.
What surprised me was the beautiful presentation of the black pork for the hot pot, arranged in a round plate resembling a flower.
Everyone exclaimed in awe at how stunning it looked.
As this was a course meal, we enjoyed appetizers and hot pot, and we could choose either ramen or zosui for the final dish.
Unless you're a big eater, the course is more than enough to satisfy your appetite, so you probably won't need to order extra.
Additionally, the staff was very attentive, providing detailed explanations about the dishes and drinks.
Next time, I’d like to bring my parents along.
This time, we visited as a group of six in a private room, but there’s also a dugout area at the back that accommodates 8 to 10 people, making it a great option for company banquets.
