Peacekeepers from almost 50 countries remain fully committed to their mandate, maintaining a visible presence across southern Lebanon through patrols, monitoring, liaison and support to humanitarian activities.

Despite the reduction in violence, UNIFIL continues to monitor and report violations of resolution 1701, including airspace violations and ground-related military activities. Some of these incidents have occurred near UNIFIL positions.

We continue to engage with the parties to help reduce tensions, support the implementation of resolution 1701 and help preserve the relative stability achieved in recent weeks.

Before peacekeepers movement, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) specialists go first to assess the area.

They identify and safely neutralize explosive hazards, helping make routes safer for peacekeepers to carry out their tasks and reducing risks.

Although violence has decreased, explosive hazards still pose risks in parts of southern Lebanon. EOD teams help reduce those risks, while contributing to safer conditions for communities returning to their villages, farms and daily activities.

Humanitarian assistance often depends on more than supplies. It also depends on safe access.

UNIFIL supports humanitarian partners through liaison, coordination and, where required, security support, helping aid reach affected communities safely.

By maintaining dialogue with the parties and coordinating movements, peacekeepers help create the conditions that allow humanitarian work to continue.

Supporting conflict-affected communities in south Lebanon remains one of our priorities.

Peacekeepers continue their support – within their means and capabilities – particularly for women and children, providing essential assistance such as food, medicines, hygiene kits, and toys.

⁠These efforts strengthen community resilience and stability, support social welfare and foster trust between peacekeepers and local communities.
