information for mothers in the military who wish to breastfeed while working. Although
the Breastfeeding in Combat Boots organization positions itself as a source for women
advocating for their right to breastfeed in the workplace, the texts also focus on
how military service often brings the private acts of motherhood into the public. By
publicizing the act of breastfeeding through language and metaphors of militarism,
Breastfeeding in Combat Boots demonstrates that the military accepts motherhood
but avoids meaningful, structural change. This article highlights how the intersections
of militarism and women’s bodies offers another lens for understanding reproductive
politics.

White allyship: A researched guide and living document for white people about being a white ally in racist America
This is a living document for white folks with information about white allyship in the #BlackLive... more This is a living document for white folks with information about white allyship in the #BlackLivesMatter Movement.
For white folks who are learning to be allies, this document gives concrete steps of how you can help the movement, explains what it means to be a white ally, and provides practices you can adopt in your everyday life. For white folks who are already allies, this document explains how to de-center whiteness while attending protests and posting on social media, notes the importance of being humble and apologizing when you get it wrong, gives sources and tools to refute racist arguments, and provides sources on how to talk to your (white) kids about race/racism.
This is a living document, meaning that the creation of this document is an ongoing progress. Please feel free to contact me with suggestions for content/sources. Also, please feel free to share this link with other white allies.
This guide was compiled through meticulous research and countless conversations with other social justice advocates. I am happy to add additional sources and revise content as needed.
