Please use a dedicated plugin for this functionality. I personally don’t use such functionality, so I can’t really recommend any specific plugin, but these look decent to me (I haven’t tested them):

- https://wordpress.org/plugins/ml-slider/
Tip: If you are building an accessible website, be careful about any carousel/slider functionality and test it thoroughly for accessibility.
