Do you have a citation and need to find the full article? This video shows you how to do that. Using a citation to find the full article title slide
Let’s look at an example citation. Here we have one in APA style, but you can follow similar steps for any citation style. First, we have the author, Crabbe, M. Then date (2010). Then the title of the article, Computational Biology Approaches to Plant Metabolism and Photosynthesis: Applications for Corals in Times of Climate Change and Environmental Stress. After the title, comes the journal name, Journal of Integrative Plant Biology. Then volume (52), Issue (8), and Pages (698-703).  Crabbe, M. (2010). Computational biology approaches to plant metabolism and photosynthesis: Applications for corals in time of climate change and environmental stress. Journal of integrative plant biology, 52(8), 698-703.
Often, to access the full text of an article, you can search for the article’s title in Scholar OneSearch on the library’s website. Presenter shows a Schoalar OneSearch for the article's title, Computational biology approaches to plant metabolism and photosynthesis: Applications for corals in time of climate change and environmental stress.
However, sometimes that may not work. So instead, you can look for the specific journal and issue.  No results page appears on the screen.
To do that, go to the library’s website, library.northeastern.edu. Underneath the Scholar OneSearch box, you’ll see a row of links. In this case, we want Journals and E-Journals. In the search box, paste the name of the journal, Journal of Integrative Plant Biology, and search. On the results list, click the journal title to see the different ways you can access the journal.  Screenshare demonstrating steps

For the Journal of Integrative Plant Biology, we have 3 providers: Wiley, EBSCOhost, and Free E-Journals. Look at the year from which each link is available. Wiley and EBSCOhost both are available from 2005 onward, so we should be safe.

Additionally, note any restrictions. For example, EBSCOhost states that the most recent year of the journal is not available. Our article is from 2010, so we can choose any of these links.

Let’s choose Wiley Online Library. You may need to authenticate with Northeastern credentials.

In the Journal's record, we zoom in to the View Online section with the 3 options.
Once we’re on the journal page, use the volume and issue information from our citation to find the correct issue of the journal. Our article is in volume 52, issue 8. Journal pages from different providers vary in look but you can usually find an area that says Archive, Browse, or View All Issues. In this case, we see Issue Archive on the left side of the page. The issues are grouped by decade. Since our article is from 2010, we open the 2010-2019 group, and select ‘2010-Volume 52’. Now we can see all the issues from this volume. Scroll down and select issue 8.  Navigates Journal of Integrative Plant Biology page.
This shows all the contents from this issue. We can scroll through to find our article using page numbers or the title. Click on the article title to open the full text, or choose any of the links below the title to see the abstract, full text, PDF, References, etc. And here’s the article! After showing options, click the title of the article.
