studio FM milano is a Milan-based graphic design consultancy studio with a recognized international reputation.
studio FM milano is an independent graphic design and art direction studio founded in Milan in 1996 by Barbara Forni, Cristiano Bottino and Sergio Menichelli. In 2022, four younger partners joined the studio: Domenico Liberti, Francesco Scagliarini, Ilaria Tomat and Libero Corti, opening a new phase in the studio’s development while preserving the continuity of its design culture.
The studio is owned and led by designers. This direct involvement of the partners in the creative process defines the way we work: closely with clients, from strategic thinking and concept development to design, production and implementation. Our structure combines senior experience, a shared design method and the contribution of a new generation of designers within a focused team of around ten people, supported by a studio manager and by a trusted network of architects, copywriters, illustrators, developers and digital media specialists.
Our work encompasses visual and brand identity, editorial design, wayfinding and environmental graphics, packaging, exhibitions and installations, websites and digital experiences, advertising and communication systems. We work across culture, institutions, fashion, industrial design, architecture and industry, developing projects that connect strategic clarity, visual precision and sensitivity to context.
Over the years, studio FM milano has received numerous international recognitions, including several European Design Awards, and its work has been exhibited, published and presented internationally. Since 2012, the studio has been part of European Design Leaders, a selected network of independent design agencies recognised for the quality of their work.
Several members of the studio also teach graphic design and visual communication in Italian universities and design schools. This ongoing relationship with education and research is an important part of the studio’s identity, keeping professional practice in continuous dialogue with contemporary visual culture.
