A new intellectual property enforcement treaty being negotiated by the&nbsp;United States, the European Community, Switzerland, and Japan, with&nbsp;Australia, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Mexico, Jordan, Morocco, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and Canada recently announcing that they will join in as well.<\/p><p>Why should you care about ACTA? Initial reports indicate that the treaty will have a <strong>very&nbsp;<\/strong>broad scope and will involve new tools targeting &ldquo;Internet distribution and information technology.&rdquo;<\/p><p>What is the goal of ACTA? I'm usually the guy sitting in a servcie like that who's wondering what's wrong with him because he doesn't feel all tha tmuch either way.. sad for the loss, but hardly weepy.&nbsp; Not so much this time.&nbsp; I got the news last week, and... yeah, it was really sad, but it didn't really start to hit me until today... I've been weepy on and off all day.&nbsp; <br \/><br \/>Steve Henderson, though I never spent as much time as maybe I wish I had now talking to him, was a powerful influance on so many of the things I count as very important in my life, from the SCA to DunDraCon. Can you get away with boots?  Weeelll.... maybe.  if they're<br \/>nice ones polished prettily and you don't have your pants bloused into<br \/>the tops ^^  Still, wingtips or something like it are better.  Next is<br \/>socks... wear nifty dark socks that don't blind a person when they<br \/>show between your shoes and your pant leg.  (This brings up a point.<br \/>Tom has rather Conservative tastes in clothes, nice clothes anyway,<br \/>and he prefers dark solid colors with white shirts to just about<br \/>anything else.  Just so you know ^^)  Now we come to trousers, Again,<br \/>dark colors (black) IRONED CREASES and a nice dark leather belt or<br \/>suspenders.  Your pants should come up to your waist,  not rest under<br \/>your gaming muscle.  Yes, this is a little uncomfortable if you've got<br \/>a gut.  This is the price you pay for sitting at home drinking Dr<br \/>pepper and playing final fantasy.  You want a nice narrow belt, not<br \/>one of those heavy two inch things you can get at hot topic for $20.<br \/>(a nice belt will probably run you the same or more, but doesn't look<br \/>at home at power exchange!)<br \/><br \/>Next comes the shirt.  Again, nice, cotton or other NATURAL fiber Fuck<br \/>polyester.  Fuck it in the ear;  it feels like shit and looks worse.<br \/>Wear an undershirt with the shirt or your nipples will show, and<br \/>that's just.... not pretty.  Even if you're a girl.  Again, this can<br \/>be somewhat... warm, but we do suffer for our art.  You can wear<br \/>shirts with buttons or not... for the longest time, I wore french<br \/>cuffs and cuff links quite a bit.  Personally I prefer studs to<br \/>buttons, but I'm a freak like that. Now the tie question.  Something<br \/>dark, something simple.  Something creative if you can get away with<br \/>it.  ALWAYS BUTTON YOUR TOP BUTTON UNDER A TIE!  TO do anything else<br \/>looks crappy.  Button down collars... button 'em. Unless you're<br \/>wearing a tie.  Personally I avoid the things like the plague they<br \/>are, but if you button them around a tie, it pulls the whole thing out<br \/>of shape and makes it look ucky.    If you prefer to go without a tie,<br \/>you have to do a little more work, however, a banded collar (that is a<br \/>dress shirt without a collar) looks way fly, especially if you put a<br \/>nifty looking stud at the top.  Again, you must button your top button<br \/>and keep it there.  The point is to look good, and so we have to<br \/>sacrifice for our art.<br \/><br \/>Jackets.  (Am I scaring you yet?  No?  Good.)  And yes, I mean a<br \/>\"sports jacket\"  Kate could tell you why it's called that, but the<br \/>point is... if you're going to wear a jacket, WEAR THE JACKET.  That<br \/>means you don't take it off when you sit down to dinner.  You may<br \/>unbutton it though.  Oh yes, Men never button the bottom button of the<br \/>jacket, don't ask me why, but it's the way things are.  Maybe it has<br \/>something to do with riding horses, or general freedom of movement,<br \/>Donno, but that's how it goes. (This is something that has changed of<br \/>late apparently, personally I think men who button their bottom button<br \/>look weird)  If your jacket has a loop for a flower, try to fill it,<br \/>that just looks snazzy.  Wear a handkerchief in your top pocket, you<br \/>never know when you're gonna sneeze and wiping your nose on your cuff<br \/>looks... tacky.
