Where have all the stories gone?
There's nothing quite like a new story. It's fresh and original, but has that same alluring aroma found in all great works. You jump in quickly, trying to gobble up everything once it is within your sight. Then, as the newly opened world begins to close, you hold on and you hope the pages are an illusion. Surely, you can't be that far already, there is so much more to tell and so little time to tell it. Time passes and finally you are forced to turn the final page and bid goodbye to another new story.

You know you just can't be content with one story, but there is nothing else to read. If only someone would write it, the one story you've always wanted to read. Maybe then you could finally be quit of your addiction. The truth is less comforting than you would hope. Only you can write that story, the one you've always wanted to read.

And so you boot up that little program and stare at the white screen in front of you. The light is too bright, though, and you can't see your story with it so bright. So, you close your eyes and take a gander. It's so beautiful, and so powerful in there. The words begin to come unbidden, the characters bein to talk, to learn, and to take a shape all their own. By the time you open your eyes, there is a world on that page. And as you put in the final words, you can't help but be excited to read it, and to see the light it gives others as they live through your world.

Still, there are more worlds to open. There are more stories that only you can tell. I may be mistaken, but I thought I was in Story Village. The village doesn't seem all that bright today, like the paint on the walls is fading, and no one wants to put on a fresh coat. I may not know the citizens, may not talk in the same accent, but I think I could open a good shop here. If there are still customers, they might want to take a look inside. I can only hope the desserts I offer are mouth-watering enough that you feel the need to cook for yourself after you've gone home.

Grumble, grumble.
I can't take him anywhere because this is the kind of malarkey he pulls!

How can I stay mad at him, though? That's silly Thom Yorke for you!

Sometimes I really do miss my lost and lonely little village.

This is a relic of me four years ago. And my utter ridiculousness. Sometimes I wonder if I still retain the capacity for such flights of whimsy.

I feel I should really start writing again. I know more words now. Since I'm in college. :)

Excuse Me
Hi there!
This community is referred to as 'interested in "clones" '. I spent some time to find any information about clones in the latest community entries, but failed. So could anybody explain to me in simple words what way the community has something to do with clones? Thank you.

I feel I'd be doing all my comrades of the Villy a disservice if I didn't introduce you to librant  AKA Conan the Librarian.

Enjoy.

This is fantastic! Reminds me of the villains in the SC tour diary. Maybe we should recruit this guy (girl?) as a writer.

I am attempting to record all of my expenses. It's harder then it sounds. Gum... coffee... parking... $50 just doesn't go as far as it used to.

In other news, I have been offered a non-paid position at an art gallery downtown. I'm pretty excitied about it. The woman who I am working with is really interested in helping me use this position to further my carrer, not just looking for someone to get her coffee.

Please welcome the new addition to my closet.

I think he and Johhny will get along well. They're both deep actors who have a penchanct for character driven roles and both have rockin' bad boy sides.

ANALOGIES YOU PROBABLY WON'T FIND IN GREAT LITERATURE
I wish I could claim some of these...

He spoke with the wisdom that can only come from experience, like a guy who went blind because he looked at a solar eclipse without one of those boxes with a pinhole in it and now goes around the country speaking at high schools about the dangers of looking at a solar eclipse without one of those boxes with a pinhole in it.

She caught your eye like one of those pointy hook latches that used to dangle from screen doors and would fly up whenever you banged the door open again.

The little boat gently drifted across the pond exactly the way a bowling ball wouldn't.

McBride fell 12 stories, hitting the pavement like a Hefty Bag filled with vegetable soup.

From the attic came an unearthly howl. The whole scene had an eerie, surreal quality, like when you're on vacation in another city and "Jeopardy" comes on at 7:00 p.m. instead of 7:30.

Her hair glistened in the rain like nose hair after a sneeze.

Her eyes were like two brown circles with big black dots in the center.

Bob was as perplexed as a hacker who means to access
T:flw.quid55328.com\aaakk/ch@ung but gets T:\flw.quidaaakk/ch@ung by mistake.

Her vocabulary was as bad as, like, whatever.

He was as tall as a six-foot-three-inch tree.

The hailstones leaped from the pavement, just like maggots when you fry them in hot grease.

Her date was pleasant enough, but she knew that if her life was a movie this guy would be buried in the credits as something like "Second Tall Man."

Long separated by cruel fate, the star-crossed lovers raced across the grassy field toward each other like two freight trains, one having left Cleveland at 6:36 p.m. traveling at 55 mph, the other from Topeka at 4:19 p.m. at a speed of 35 mph.

The politician was gone but unnoticed, like the period after the Dr. on a Dr Pepper can.

They lived in a typical suburban neighborhood with picket fences that resembled Nancy Kerrigan's teeth.

John and Mary had never met. They were like two hummingbirds who had also never met.

The thunder was ominous-sounding, much like the sound of a thin sheet of metal being shaken backstage during the storm scene in a play.

His thoughts tumbled in his head, making and breaking alliances like underpants in a dryer without Cling Free.

The red brick wall was the color of a brick-red Crayola crayon.

Now that I have a new, much more spacious, closet I'll finally have room for a smoking section for my lover man Johnny. He'll be oh so happy.

My art professor has cancer. He’s very flip and casual about it, every now and then mentioning that he won’t be having office hours because he has a chemo treatment that day or what have you.
It amazes me. My grandfather died of cancer, I saw how it took him apart and it scares the hell out of me. I want to ask him (my professor not my grandfather) how he manages to be so calm about it. He’s teaching two large lecture classes this semester and, as he shares with us every Tuesday, goes on long hikes every weekend. I would be crying in my bathroom everyday and be unable to care for myself let alone work.
I’m not really going anywhere with this just kind noting something I find interesting.

not so new introduction
Deleezee = Nancypants = Caron

My feet are on fire. I've just been to a wedding reception and danced to really bad music in stylish but ill-fitting shoes. why did i do it? i swear this was the lamest wedding band in the entire pantheon of lame wedding bands. they played a very weird combination of ubiquitous 70's hits along with a baffling selection of broadway showtunes. i pondered mightily but danced anyway. and now my red and swollen toesies must pay the price.

Introductions...
Alrighty. I am kilgore_trout from the SC board, also known as Al, and I'm currently in charge of finishing closet shipments and rounding up any loose closetmen. Has anyone seen Colin and Brian Bell? They must've been out playing capture the flag, as they are often wont to do, when I moved my closet.
