This guide explains the potential issues you may encounter when using multiple integrations within a single StoreEngine product, as well as when combining multiple products, Academy LMS courses, bundles, or bookings into a single checkout and order.

Scenario 1: StoreEngine Mixed Integration Issue

Scenario:

If you configure one StoreEngine product with multiple integrations, such as:

  • Academy LMS Course
  • Academy Tutor Booking
  • Academy LMS Course Bundle
StoreEngine Mixed Integration

And if a user purchases this product, the user will gain access to all integrated items (course, booking, and bundle) at the same time.

Issue You May Face

The issue occurs when the order for this product is cancelled.

Since all integrations are connected to a single StoreEngine product, cancelling the order will:

  • Remove access to the Academy LMS course
  • Cancel the tutor booking
  • Remove access to the course bundle

In short, all linked integrations will be cancelled together, even if the user intended to cancel only one specific service.

Recommendation:

To avoid this issue, it is not recommended to mix multiple integrations in a single StoreEngine product if you need independent control over:

  • Cancellations
  • Access management
  • Order handling

Best Practice: Use separate StoreEngine products for different integrations whenever possible.

Scenario 2: Mixed Purchase in a Single Checkout & Order

Scenario:

If you purchase a StoreEngine physical or digital product together with an Academy LMS course, bundle course, or booking in a single checkout and order, all purchased items will be activated once the purchase is completed.

Mixed Purchase

Issue You May Face

Problems arise if you later cancel any item from that order, for example:

  • A StoreEngine product
  • An Academy LMS course
  • A bundle course or booking

Since all items are linked to the same checkout and order, cancelling any single item will result in the entire order being cancelled.

As a result:

  • Access to the StoreEngine product will be removed
  • Access to the Academy LMS course will be revoked
  • Access to the bundle course or booking will also be removed

In short, when multiple products are purchased in one checkout or one order, individual cancellation is not possible. Cancelling one item removes access to all purchased items.

Recommendation:
To avoid this issue, do not combine multiple products in a single checkout & order if you need independent control over cancellations or access. Use separate checkouts and orders for different products whenever possible.
