Once upon a time during the Covid19 Lockdown of 2021 i began work upon a library with the plans safely held in my fancy,but as one knows books as small as those that i required for my scratch-built book shelves do not exist. Facades of book spines i soon found out would take longer to make, than making a single row of individuel book props ! So i began to print,cut and glue each one,after printing out hundreds of those that i liked best. However as the weeks of bussiness rolled away,i determined to create my own self style of joining pictures together while doing tutorials on the Internet. Last but not least here upon my run down crumbling Blog. Cutting out paper can lead one to an awfully big adventure,and even a time ahead to write about it. So onwards now to what now follows.

Period Piece Book Pictures; from the 1930's 1940's  1950's 1960's

Finding pictures of front cover books of yesteryear is rather easy,but after many weeks and months i finally found out my very own way of producing small scale fold over books for Sir Percy's Library.                                                       
As always i only show the way in a tutorial way to aid the arts.

Pushing them all together formed the open ended book covers that i had a dire need to have. i then swipped them in one sweep and that was another design i coppied that could and would be used.

One 12th of a sheet to be printed out.

Coppied title is turned upright in order to create the books spine.

    

These will be thicker books upon their folding over.

In those longago days of youthful play we had chums i often wonder what they have today?

The first plate for further reduction looks ok,but the real proff will be in the finale printing.

              By now the process should be clear?

There are lots of Alice Books on Line,but they tend to be in tattered and torn to pieces. So that was the real challenge to make do with what i could obtain, and then figure it all out to suit my needs.

The book spine above is the real one from the actual book.

Here i determined upon two possibilies.

Simple by weighing 500,then weighing the Lot, then doing the maths determine at present over 12,000 book props have been done and dusted.

Well over a year now i have been trawling the internet for old classic open book covers,but after a while i realised the limitations in my finding the ones that i wanted in my photo printing book plate collection.
So i began an endeaver to create my own flow of open book covers ,by finding real cool pictures of classic old ones. From first finding just one picture,and highlighting the colour that it once had. Then after sweeping over it certain actions of heart to make my copies, i would in turn of excitement print them all out.  So the three step process is set out below in order to show the way.                                              

    Like finding treasure, i noticed the famous celebrated Author above so i knew the style of writing would be very old indeed
            From the year of the great bird flue pandemic of 1920, this charming picture came my way.                      

                                                                         

      ... i then coppied  the above book spine from                                  the picture.

i then made another sweep of the complete picture.

 

Then i pushed all three pictures together to form my version of this over 100 yearold book.  Sure it took time out of my usual busy day,but felt it well worth it.  All i have to do now is print out my reduced in size covers in order to shuffled them into pride of place  upon one of my own scratch built Book Cases that will stand surrounded in deep dark but interesting book style mystery in the highly methodic changing  LIBRARY

The finised picture plate above is ready for printing out. Three stacks of 45! Yes i like small!
Why so many? A good question! i might mix other plates on one page,if and when i find them. 
All in all there are estimated to be over 12,000 little book blanks already made. i finish one job lot only to find other front pictures i must just include like those three below.
