Deadlock will work if you download api-ms-win-core-synch-l1-2-0.dll from the GitHub repo cristianadam/api-ms-win-core-synch-Win7, go to your Deadlock install folder, where the EXE is create a "deadlock.exe.local" folder, put the DLL in there, go to your registry, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options, create a DWORD called DevOverrideEnable, set it to 1 then reboot. Funnily enough they even fixed the distorted colors issue previous builds had on my graphics drivers.
