A group dedicated to the proliferation of Dragon Quest games on PC

This group is dedicated to showing Square Enix that Dragon Quest games belong on PC. Not crumby mobile ports. No. Only full-fledged Dragon Quest games, preferably updated to suit the power of PC. All members should do everything they can to generate buzz and interest in Dragon Quest on PC so that one day we may be able to play any Dragon Quest game we want on the best platform for gaming.

Happy Dragon Quest Day and a Merry 40th Anniversary!

Update 2

The 10-minute long main event revealed that Dragon Quest XII restarted development with a new team some time ago. The darker tone that was first announced got scrapped for a more light hearted one. But it sounds like it'll be a while longer before we're able to play it. Among the reveal trailer, they showed some of the heroes, a new logo and a new subtitle: Beyond Dreams.

Dragon Quest Day is finally here and we've got a commemorative message from Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii, which he posted on the 40th Anniversary Website [www.dragonquest.jp]

What started as the simple joy of being able to play an RPG on a living room TV has now grown into a grand story enjoyed by three generations of families.

No matter how the hardware changes, no matter how the times change, what I've always cherished is the "excitement of being the protagonist of your own story." Life is truly a "role-playing game." Sometimes you'll hit a wall, and sometimes you'll step into a toxic swamp. But if you accumulate experience step by step and never give up, I'm sure a path will open up for you.

Even after 40 years, my adventurous spirit is far from over. I want to continue delivering new stories that can accompany you on your own life's adventure.

UPDATE

It's official! A live stream has been announced for tomorrow, 6am PDT / 15:00 CEST / 22:00 JST. The program is planned to run for about 10 minutes, which is rather short. But maybe it will be followed up something else. The Japanese Square Enix YouTube channel has 8 private videos listed in their Dragon Quest playlist after all. We're bound to get something good out of this.

I know it'll be early for some of you, but you're all invited to join the Group Chat tomorrow. Hope to see you there!

It's almost time to celebrate Dragon Quest's 40th Anniversary!

While we still haven't gotten any official announcement by Square Enix regarding a live stream, series creator Yuji Horii basically spilled the beans on an episode of the KosoKoso broadcast.

Whether that next game is Dragon Quest XII or something else remains to be seen, but this sure is bound to be an exciting day for us Dragon Quest fans!

I'll update this announcement when new information is revealed. Hopefully the exact time slot for the live stream is revealed soon, so we can all plan ahead. I hope to see a lot of you lovely people joining the group chat during the live stream. It's going to be a Kaboomle!

I could use a couple more friends to talk Dragon Quest with, and JRPGs in general.
