This is not MOO2. It is hard to tell if you are doing the right thing. Combat is weaker than was in MOO2. Just an overall badly thought out game. Re-do it and get it right.

Very fun game so far. I will write a more complete review later, but for now I wanted to include a few things I wish the devs would include:

1. The option to play with an incomplete tech tree, such as in the original Master of Orion. That is, every race only has access to 50% of the techs in any given game and needs to either trade for a missing tech, steal it, or wait until the next higher option in the tech tree to supersede it.
2. A planet like Orion. That is, a very good planet that offers powerful tech/weapons to the first player to control it, but which is guarded by an immensely powerful ship. It's useful for offering a way to come back from behind. In every game "Orion" will appear in some star system reasonably close to the center of the galaxy.
3. A total population victory slider.

Overall though, it's a great game. Looking forward to the expansion this year.
