Just a single change here. We've removed the feature to custom name save files for the time being. The reason for this is twofold; firstly, some character combinations were interfering with the save system and could break it (Looking at you, comma!). Whilst it would be possible for us to do illegal character and word detection, addressing it is about our bandwidth as well as what solutions we have. Secondly, the editable text boxes that one could use to create the save file name were not playing nice on Steamdeck, and we want to make sure as many people as possible can play tWoD.

Existing save slot names will not be affected, so your existing save files will continue to work as before.

Thanks to all who helped us identify issues around this one, See you in the Wilds.

Nausea effect stronger than any other game

I only managed a few minutes before I had to quit due to feeling sick from the movement and unnecessary amount of head bobbing. I'm guessing you didn't ask any\many people to test the game before release or this would have come up. It felt like: imagine trying to use roller skates when drunk. Also the interaction controls behave oddly. You can see some prompts on screen from items that are down stairs from you. And clicking on prompts when highlighted sometimes didn't seem to do anything, or maybe they re...

puzzle 'intensity'?

how 'intense' is the difficulty of the puzzles in the game? I'm very curious/interested in the game, but my head doesn't do extended puzzling well. Cocoon is a puzzle game that I was able to get through almost entirely without any guide help (I think I used a guide for one puzzle), so would you all say it's in line with Cocoon, or does it get more complex than that? (I get that this is a much more subjective question than it seems, but I hate feeling stupid because I can't understand or figure out the in...

Thank you to everyone who has played the game so far, we're super proud that we've finally been able to get the game out. A special thanks as well to those who have reported issues. Patch Notes

Gameplay Improvements
- Tutorial Improvements
- Legibility and clarity of Journal Tutorials
- Ensure you cannot get "locked" into tutorial on wrong page
- Wind Tunnel initialisation updated to ensure they are on
- Ensure GlowCrystals state is properly assigned on load to stop doors closing when dying, or loading
- Save points no longer create improper "checkpoint" saves (should stop checkpoints being created in problematic locations)
- More save points to reduce chance of lost game time
- Manta Nest interaction now has unique SaveID to ensure its interact state
- Jellyfish should now reset their interacted status correctly when Edric respawns

Codex Improvements
- Assigned missing entries to entities in the world
- Ensure 100% research possible in the game
- Ensure 100% research possible achievement unlocks
- Updates to "summary" page to display correct information

Minor Fixes
- Fixed lighting error in caves (Metallic materials not rendering properly)
- Send L-P1N keybind improperly shown for controller
- Winch Interact state loaded properly (ensures you cannot get into a stuck state below the airship)

Save Point / Devices?

I keep seeing these cannister shaped devices with a small white flag. There is one on the ship, one in the forest, one at the campsite. They have a black diamond with an icon that looks like a disk. The codex refers to them as "Save Points" but I can't figure out how/if they work. I can manually save my game at any time. What do the canisters do and how do I activate them? Thanks in advance...

After years of development, countless playtests, community feedback, late nights and probably far too many demos…

Wilds of Dacrima is officially OUT NOW on Steam!

This moment honestly feels surreal for all of us at Antler. What started as a small passion project between friends has somehow grown into something shared by an amazing community of players from all over the world. This game was built by three friends in our spare time, quite literally.

So this moment is for everyone who’s been with us since the very first build, our kickstarter backers, every demo, tradeshow, festival, every update and iteration of the game.. thank you. Especially to the folks who stuck with us despite the 100 different demo builds 😅

And to all the new players joining us today: welcome! We genuinely can’t wait for you to explore the world of Dacrima for yourselves.

🎮 Steam Deck Note

Quick heads-up for Steam Deck players!

Currently Steam lists Wilds of Dacrima as “Not Playable”, however the game does run on Steam Deck and we’ve been actively testing it there throughout development.

The current issue comes from entering a custom save name with the on-screen keyboard. For now, you can simply use the default save name and continue playing normally.

We’re already working on getting this sorted ASAP so Valve can properly update the compatibility status.

Some quick feedback from the first few minutes.

I really want to like this game, but at the moment the amount of camera movement from view-bobbing etc makes it impossible for me to play longer than a few minutes. It would be great if these kinds of screen shake effects could be disabled as an option. Issue 2: Arachnophobia mode doesn't seem to affect the spider in the intro....

The game itself is good and I love it! I was experiencing a lot of crashes, but I'm not sure if that was something with my own setup or a conflict with OBS.
