Greeting Ectypes! You asked for chaos. METEM heard you. We heard you. So we built it… and then we broke it a little more, just to be sure.

Update 1.3 is our biggest content drop since STRIKER (and maybe even more), and it leans hard into the thing Void Crew has always done best: Putting your crew in a tight spot and watching the screaming start.

New Calamities. New Enemies. New Encounters. New Hazards. New Toys.

In other words: New ways for your Pilgrimage to go absolutely, gloriously sideways.

Pour les ginger shots. HUTLIHUT!

• NEW SYSTEM: Calamities – Run-altering events that escalate the stakes late-objective (or mid if you are running insane objectives). Headline acts: Singularity (yes, an actual black hole) and the Void Sanction (It's a BIG bomb... on an ominous-sounding timer).

• NEW OBJECTIVES: Primary objective Fleet Battle – Join up with METEM ships to take down several Elite HOLLOW Cruisers in sequence. We also added two brand new side objectives - Armoury and Distress Call, and a reworked Priority Targets with new Elites to chew on.

• NEW ENCOUNTER: Voidfish – The deep void had a creature in it the whole time. Now it's noticed you. Not reaaally an enemy, but absolutely capable of defending itself. Also: Full of juicy Biomass. Go fish!

• NEW HAZARD: HOLLOW Hydra – Multi-part HOLLOW horror. Bring friends. (And on Hard/Insane it comes shielded, so bring more friends.).

• NEW TWIST: Void Rift Mines – Because the Void wasn't dense enough already.

• NEW WEAPONS: Bestower Flak Cannon and Absolver Lance – plus more BRAIN variants of both new and old guns.

• NEW ITEM TYPE: Payload Batteries – Self-charging reusable missile/torpedo payloads in three tiers, including a brand new Energy Missile. Stop running dry mid-objective.

• Expanded Modding support (Steam), a big UI pass, solo improvements and the usual smattering of balancing & bugfixes.

• NEW CALAMITY SUPPORTER'S PACK – If you enjoy Void Crew and want that extra edge of coolness, now's your chance to support the devs here!

Calamities are the headline of 1.3 - We always liked the tension associated with the Reclaimer arriving and pacing you to end the objective. Design-wise, we usually compare it with the arrival of Baron von Blubba in a game of Bubble Bobble. It's always this really fun, tension-building moment where your plan suddenly goes out the window, and all you're left with is the imperative to get the hell out of there... So we decided to add some more of these - and give them a proper name for good measure. Calamities. The "Reclaimer Arrival" is the OG Calamity - but now there's two new unique objective-enders for you to enjoy.

NEW Calamity: Singularity

A localized black hole tears open in the objective area. Manage the pull, mind your trajectory, and pray your Pilot is paying attention. If you're outside in E.V.A. you'll find that the puny thrusters on your Jetpack do very little when it comes to combatting the pull of the black hole. Hopefully you picked up the Grappling Hook perk?

NEW Calamity: Void Sanction

The HOLLOW sometimes loose patience with the dealings of the followers of METEM. The Void Sanction is that impatience made manifest. Instead of sending a friendly Reclaimer to gently shoo you on your way, they'll jump in a bomb. A big bomb. It's on a short timer though, so you probably have time to scoop a few items before you need to jump away. Probably.

NEW 'Not-really-an-Enemy': Voidfish

Drifting silently through the deep, the Voidfish just want to be left alone. Beautiful from a distance. Less so up close. Treat it with respect, or don't - they are full of biomass after all.

NEW Enemy: HOLLOW Hydra

A new HOLLOW horror with that splits into three when blown up - it's all trigonometry with these guys. On Hard and Insane objectives, the Hydra spawns shielded. Coordinate your fire and prioritize targets, or get overrun. Also, if you're playing with the mutator "Revenant HOLLOW", then it's your own fault. Just saying.

Cut one head off and… well. You know the saying.

NEW Hazard: Void Rift Mines

Volatile, rift-borne munitions seeded wherever you go. Touch them, shoot them, or (preferably) don't. They will reward poor pathfinding decisively.

NEW Primary Objective: Fleet Battle

A brand new headline objective: METEM Vanguard missile boats squaring off against HOLLOW ships in a proper fleet-vs-fleet showdown. Bring your best loadout. This one has a new HOLLOW Cruiser Elite at the center of it, and not just one. METEM expects results.

NEW Side Objective: Armory

A new high-value side opportunity. The risk-vs-reward calculus is yours to make. Though the team admits it has a nice "calmness" to it, once the initial enemies are dispatched. Hint: You don't HAVE to use the Armory key at the first site encountered - maybe the next one has better loot.

NEW Side Objective: Distress Call

Someone called for help. You're not the first to arrive. The Reclaimer is already inbound. Decide fast what you can loot, and what you have to leave behind. Seriously, be careful.

Priority Targets — Reworked (Side Objective)

Priority Targets has been rebuilt, now drawing from a wider roster of enemy elites. More variety, more bounties, more reasons to chase that side objective marker (Or just nuke them from afar like we do).

• HOLLOW Cruiser Elite – A new capital-class HOLLOW threat. Centerpiece spawn for Fleet Battle, and a Priority Target in its own right.

• HOLLOW Destroyer Elite – An escalation of the Destroyer chassis. Don't underestimate it. (Also, it no longer teleports for remote players. See bugfixes.)

• REMNANT Frigate Elite – Yes, REMNANT brought something new to the fight. Who'd think adding armor plates to cover your weak spots was a good idea??!

NEW Weapon Module: Bestower Flak Cannon A new heavy caliber piece focused on area denial. Satisfying, loud, and now starts on the Heavy loadout.
NEW Weapon Module: Absolver Lance High-power-cost-precision weapon. Not great range, but you can keep doing epic damage if you can keep that lance active long enough...

NEW BRAIN variants for the solo / under-crewed runs:

• Bestower Flak B.R.A.I.N.

• Absolver Lance B.R.A.I.N.

• Orison Autocannon B.R.A.I.N.

Note: BRAIN weapons also have a new handy toggle that toggles between Free-fire or Target Locks only. So you can make sure your Orison and Bestower guns only spend ammunition on the targets you absolutely/positively need to die. (All of them - they all need to die).

A new module to bring some more divinity into your Loadout. We'll let you find out the rest in the Void.

A new class of reusable payloads: rechargeable. No more "one shot and it's gone forever." Each Payload Battery is available in three tiers:

• Medium Missile

• Cluster Missiles

• Energy Missile (new!)

• Heavy Torpedo

Pairs beautifully with the new Charged Payloads relic. Just saying.

The trusty Automechanic now upgrades into Mk II and Mk III variants. More B.R.A.I.N.. More uptime. Less yelling at the engineer. If you are lucky enough to have one, that is.

• Underpowered (Rank Unlocked) – The more power overdraw, the more damage output. Good luck. We dare you to try this with the mutator "Flippin' Ridiculous" ... (double dare!)

• Fireworks (Loadout Challenge) – Put the Bestower Flak cannons to the test. Bring popcorn.

• Damage type modifiers updated:

  • Kinetic vs Shields buffed: 25% → 50%

  • Shatter vs Armor buffed: 150% → 175%

  • Shatter vs Shields buffed: 10% → 25%

• Increased spawn rate of side objectives

• BRAIN Turrets now prioritise shooting at what their damage type is most effective against (target locks still come first)

• All BRAINs now have a toggle between two targeting modes: Free Fire (default, old behavior) and Target Locks (only fires on pilot-locked enemies)

• Increased base range of the Litany Minigun

• Orison & Heavy Caliber rebalanced – ammo is now +30, and Orison magazine capacity adjusted accordingly

• Heavy Loadout now starts with a Bestower Flak Cannon

• The "Heavy" Homunculus blessing is now ammo consumption 100% (was 200%) – balances out with the increased heavy caliber magazine sizes

• Buffed the following relics:

  • Rearwards Rebuke: Aft Damage bonus 0.25x → 0.35x

  • Breaking Point: Changed from damage buff to Fire Rate buff to better distinguish it from Energy Overload

  • Litany Bullet Hymn: Reload time penalty +200% → +100%

  • Recuser's Lament: Fire Rate change −0.15x exponential → −20% additive (damage bonus now scales better)

  • Drive-By Shooting: Fire Rate bonus during thruster boost +20% → +40%

  • Heat Tempered Aegis: Shield recharge bonus +0.2 HP/s → +100% HP/s (and fixed it barely doing anything in the first place)

  • Bullet Storm: Ammo efficiency +25% → +100%

• Split "Wounded Frenzy" into two relics:

  • Wounded Frenzy: Increases Fire Rate for each active defect

  • Punishment Engine: Increases Engine Power for each active defect

• Increased recycle value of weapon mods from 2 → 5

• \[Community] Survivor loot rebalanced – METEM Rift wrecks now contain higher-tier loot

• Improved targeting and increased speed of missiles fired by METEM Vanguard ships (Protect, Fleet Battle)

• Updated pivot points of carryables when placed in various socket types

• Updated and optimised the Coldsnap, Electric Stormclouds, and Temperance sector Visibility Twist VFX

• Glass material sorting fixed across all ships

• Added support on cosmetics for sub-animations

• Animus crates now install automatically when added to a build socket (removed the button from the top of Animus crates)

• Heavy Caliber Weapons: Buffed Mk1 & Mk2 magazines, and aligned Mk3 with the Litany Minigun's magazine progression so Mk3 is now twice as good as Mk1. Heavy Caliber reservoirs now tick in increments of 15 (was 6)

• Litany Miniguns are easier to reload – the active reload threshold no longer scales with the increase in reload time. Active reload on Heavy Magazines is also easier

• 10 new armor patterns: Cracks, Immiscible, Rustic Red, Sand, Satin, Spatter, Strokes Of Blue / Green / Orange / Purple

• New and updated icons for many modules, especially weapons

• Astral Map UI redesign – now also shows which encounters a sector contains (debris field, wrecks, etc.)

• Galaxy Map: Saved-game UI now also indicates what type of quest was saved

• Ship Loadout Terminal UI tweaks

• Fabricator UI tweaks

• You will now see damage numbers from Payloads and BRAIN Turrets as Pilot or when using the Periscope

• Moved up the inertia zone warning in the Jetpack UI

• Renamed the Close-quarter relic to "Point Blank" to better tell it apart from the Close Quarters weapon mod

• \[Community] Added sprint toggle (always run) to settings

• \[Community] Circuit breaker UI is now more colorblind-friendly

• Tooltips now display more interaction keybinds dynamically (such as the refunding-perk keybind)

• Streamlined icons for Thruster Boosters, Defects, and Trims (as seen on Automechanic, Thruster Boosters, self-Pings)

• Fixed Dynamic Mods (Relics, Homunculi, Mutators) no longer updating their effects after uninstalling another module

• Fixed being unable to click in certain UI areas (caused by faded-out damage markers)

• Fixed teleporting HOLLOW Destroyers for remote players

• Fixed Orison not actually using Shatter (Armor Breaking) damage type

• Fixed dynamic join failing if a BRAIN target was destroyed while powered off

• Fixed payload system breaking when the ship is being destroyed (e.g. getting stuck in tally / black screen)

• Fixed payloads playing the decoy sound on launch

• Fixed various annoying colliders in Striker that hindered movement

• Fixed Directional Shield "Ship Rotation" so it snaps to whole 90° increments on the display screen

• Fixed LOD issue on the Payload Launcher

• Fixed Bomber LOD warning issue

• Fixed HOLLOW Shield Generator "animating" itself out of its shield

• Fixed Payload Launcher breaking if fired inside a Void Tunnel – it will now refuse to fire while in a Void Tunnel

• Mines no longer trigger a music change

• \[RESOLVED] Crossplay with consoles is not working for PC players. It's been fixed, pending approval to be released asap, likely tomorrow (21 of May).
