StackUp Learn

The StackUp Learn app is a space where you can access free tutorials to level up your developer skills. Here’s how it works:

1. Visit StackUp Learn app
2. Click on the Explore tab to view our full list of skill pathways, which includes web development, data science, Web3, AI and developer tools.

3. Click on a skill

4. Click on a module

5. Click on a tutorial

6. Click Start Tutorial to view the tutorial content

7. Click Mark complete once you’re done.

StackUp Hackathon

The StackUp Hackathon app offers a variety of hackathons and bounties, which you can participate in to build real-world projects and enhance your dev portfolio. 
 
What is a hackathon/bounty?
Featuring higher level challenges, hackathons and bounties will require you to put your skills to test. You be faced with real-world problem statements and tasked to build a solution to address them. You may also choose to build in teams or solo.
 
How to participate in a hackathon/bounty?
  1. Choose a hackathon/bounty of your interest
  2. Register for the hackathon/bounty
  3. Form a team (optional)
  4. Submit your hackathon/bounty
  5. Wait for your submission to be graded
  6. Receive your submission result

How to register for a hackathon/bounty

  1. Visit the Hackathon app
  2. Browse our list of hackathons and bounties. They will be categorised under one of the following:
    1. Register Now: Registrations for the hackathon/bounty are open.
      Submissions for the hackathon/bounty have not begun yet.
    2. Ongoing: Submissions for the hackathon/bounty have begun. Depending on the organiser, you may or may not be able to still register for the event. 
    3. Upcoming: Registrations and submissions for the hackathon/ bounty have not begun yet.
    4. Closed: Registrations and submissions for the hackathon/ bounty have closed.
  3. Choose an available hackathon or bounty, then click Register Now.
  4. Complete your registration by filling in the required details in the registration form. 
  5. Upon successful registration, you will be able to:
    1. View more details about the hackathon or bounty, including checklist, teams & submission, participants and gallery. 
    2. Once the submission window opens, make your submission. 

How to form teams in a hackathon/bounty

Instead of working solo, you can choose to work with your peers and make team submissions in the Hackathon App! You will only be able to form a team after registering for the hackathon/bounty, and only after the submission window has begun.
 
    1. Register for the hackathon / bounty
    2. After registration, click Team & Submission
    3. Click Create Team (note: the Create Team button will only be available after the submission window has opened)
    4. Fill up the team name. Do note that you will not be able to change this once the team is created.
    5. Under Add team member, key in your team member’s StackUp email address or username.
    6. Click on your teammate, and then click on Add Member
    7. Once you’re done, click Create team.

How to submit a hackathon/bounty

  1. Register for the hackathon/bounty
  2. If the hackathon/bounty is currently listed under Register Now, you must wait for the submission window to open before you can make your submission.
  3. If the hackathon/bounty is currently listed under Ongoing, this means the submission window is open, and you can make a submission. Remember to submit before the submission deadline.
  4. Submission can be done by clicking the Submit Now button:

 

If you’re working in teams

Each team only needs to make 1 submission. The team leader should make the submission on behalf of your group.

How to earn rewards from a hackathon/bounty

After registering and submitting your hackathon or bounty, our team will take some time to review your work.
You can expect to receive your result ~2 weeks after the submission deadline, such as:

  • Rewarded: You’ve done well in your submission and will be rewarded with a cash prize. 
  • Approved: Your submission has met our criteria. However, there were better higher submissions from other teams. Thus, you will not be rewarded.
  • Rejected: Your submission has failed to meet our criteria.

Step 1 – Gain Access to our Discord Community: Take a quick onboarding process. Answer pre-join questions that will determine your first role in our community. (Takes less than 1 minute!)

Step 2 – Click on the Channels & Roles: Customise your server experience and unlock various channels by answering some questions. Adjust your channel visibility anytime to suit your preference.

What is a Stackcoin?

Our server’s currency is called Stackcoin which you can use to purchase server perks and permissions, boosts, and Nitro Subscription.

How to earn Stackcoins?

You can start earning Stackcoins once you reach the Bronze server level/role. Ranks are special roles awarded to Stackies based on their overall engagement in the server. To rank up, participate actively by engaging with your fellow Stackies in general chat and threads! You can also earn Stackcoins through participating in community events.

Where to earn Stackcoins?

📈｜stacking-up – (for ranks Bronze and above)

  • Daily Bonus – Claim your coins every day using !daily command. (Server resets at 12AM SGT)
  • Hourly Hustle – Earn coins each hour with !work.

Weekly Quiz

Every Tuesday at 10pm SGT is our weekly quiz held at #quiz-time. Our weekly quiz covers topics related to new tutorials launched on the Learn app.

Join the #quiz-time channel before 10 PM. Quiz questions will appear in the channel at the designated time. Submit your answers quickly to earn the most points. The faster you answer correctly, the more points you get!

Prizes:

  • The Top 10 participants will each earn 3,000 Stackcoins!
  • The Top 10 performers across all weekly quizzes in the month will each win $2 USD!

StackUp Earn

The StackUp Earn app offers a variety of quests, which you can participate in to learn new skills and earn rewards.

A quest is a guided learning experience that aims to introduce to you the latest developer technologies and tools. At the end of every quest, you will be required to make a submission to showcase what you have learnt, and stand a chance to earn cash rewards! The number of rewards available per quest is limited in quantity and will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Joining a Quest

To join a quest, visit the Earn app and click into a campaign. Within a campaign, there are multiple quests, each detailing the amount of players and cash prize you can stand to win upon completion. Click into a quest and then click Join Quest.

Submitting a Quest

After joining a quest and completing all the steps, you will be able to upload files and/or submit text as proof that you successfully completed the quest. After submission, the quest will be under review, until the Review by date.

Viewing your Result

After the review by date has passed, you should see a change in your quest submission status. These are the types of statuses:

  • Rewarded – your submission was valid + you have been rewarded
  • Approved – your submission was valid + however, there are no more rewards left as our rewards are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Rejected – your submission was invalid
