COMPATIBILITY

This plugin is compatible with all media types, including retina and WebP versions. It has been tested on a wide range of WordPress versions, including the latest version with Gutenberg, as well as on various themes with a large community of users. It also supports WooCommerce. For users with more complex plugins for handling website content, the Pro version may be necessary for optimal compatibility. We are constantly working to increase compatibility with other plugins.

Upload the plugin to WordPress.
Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
Go to Meow Apps -> Cleaner in the sidebar and check the appropriate options.
Go to Media -> Cleaner.

The free version is useless it could not even find one single file despite hours of scanning!!! Same kind of problem with the Database cleaner too, which we bought the Pro version and the developer just could not help fix the issue. finally found another plugin that worked well Not going to waste my time and money on the Pro for sure.

I have used this on many websites, and it works flawlessly. I’m getting the pro version to clean up a large WordPress network and subsites with lots of duplicate media, and I’m confident it will get the job done as usual.

i used it on 2 projects till now – at the first little project i got 1899 files deleted with 180 MB spave saved and on the second project there were over 22000 files to delete with over 1.3 GB spave available after that! it makes not only the media library much smaller, it saves also a lot of database entries!

media cleaner is a well thought out plug-in for analyzing and removing unused images in your media gallery. By cleaning and maintaining your gallery on a regular basis and optimizing your images using a plug-in like perfect images (from the same author) you can expect some improvements to the performance of your site.
