One of his female models (Adrianne Palicki) takes up with Misha Collins, who is a drug dealer working for a cartel being investigated by journalist Aldis Hodge. Collins gets Adrianne hooked on heroin, and, Jensen, along with Jared, Aldis and Mark P., who is Jensen's tailor, go after him. There is a scuffle and Collins falls off the roof of a building and dies.

Notes:<\/b> Every year for the longest time now, Wendy has patiently organized the J2 Big Bang challenge, and it's been our favorite challenge ever. It's forced us to write, when we're both incredibly lazy. It's introduced us to the most amazing artists, and ensured that we have high quality stories to read all through the summer. It must be a logistical nightmare to round up all the talent and make sure that everything runs smoothly. All praise to Wendy for her efforts. Long may she continue!

We hadn't known of <\/a>eprimacol<\/b><\/a><\/span>'s artwork before she chose our story to illustrate, and it was with mounting excitement we watched as she produced panel after panel of the most gorgeous artwork. Those were questions we asked ourselves, and this is the story that resulted. Sam takes up photography and seems to have the knack for it, although Dean feels he's way too interested in cutlery, while Dean is finding out that he can diagnose engine trouble in high end cars. They seem set for a peaceful summer until the need for a spot of breaking and entering becomes necessary.
Author's Notes:<\/b> We were feeling pretty disheartened when our story languished until almost the very last. When we were picked up by our artist, we realized that she was an amazing talent, who did so many lovely pieces for us, despite having tons of other commitments. Summary:

Jensen lives in Dallas, in the Lone Star Colony on a post-apocalyptic Earth. He\u2019s been re-educated (brainwashed) to believe he is Eric Brady, expendable freight-hauler. Dallas is a crumbling mess of asphalt and concrete encased in a dome,unused freeways and buildings derelict while those in use are maintained in barely usable condition. New buildings, such as a temple built of limestone polished to look like marble, dot the area, a tribute to the power and benevolence of the new fundamentalist religious regime. Most people travel by hovercar, so the crumbling roadways aren\u2019t a problem, but Eric\u2019s heavy loads must be transported by old fashioned tractor-trailer trucks. A huge, visibly fractured moon serves as a chilling reminder of the war that destroyed the earth.

Jared, a rebel deemed Unacceptable by the new regime who works as a scrap hauler scavenging from the ruins of Old Earth as well as items abandoned by the new regime, rescues Eric when his truck breaks down while on a trip Outside the dome. Jared introduces Eric to \u201creal food\u201d like steak and fries which Eric has been taught are Unclean, shows him how to defend himself from the mutant bunnies (huge rabbits with teeth large enough to snap a man\u2019s arm like a carrot stick), and introduces him to the rebel leaders who have a message for Eric that help him remember that he is actually Jensen, who was born on the Martian colony founded by the ultra-fundamentalist refugees from the war that devastated the earth. Okay, so I don't usually do this, but this is an issue near and dear to me and this is getting very little<\/s> no attention in the mainstream media.

Mississippi is voting on November 8th on whether to pass Amendment 26, the "Personhood Amendment". This amendment would grant fertilized eggs and fetuses personhood status.

Putting aside the contentious issue of abortion, this would effectively outlaw birth control and criminalize women who have miscarriages. This is not a good thing.

Jackson Women's Health Organization<\/a> is the only place women can get abortions in the entire<\/i> state, and they are trying to launch a grassroots movement against this amendment. This doesn't just apply to Mississippi, though, as Personhood USA, the group that introduced this amendment, is trying to introduce identical amendments in all 50 states<\/i>.

What's more, in Mississippi, this amendment is expected to pass. It even has Mississippi Democrats, including the Attorney General, Jim Hood, backing it.

The reason I'm posting this here is because I made a meager donation to the Jackson Women's Health Organization this morning, and I received a personal email back hours later - on a Sunday - thanking me and noting that I'm one of the first "outside" people to contribute.

So if you sometimes pass on political action because you figure that enough other people will do something to make a difference, make an exception on this one. My RSS reader is near silent on this amendment. I only found out about it through a feminist blog. The mainstream media is not reporting on it.

If there is ever a time to donate or send a letter in protest, this would be it.

What to do?

- Read up on it. Wake Up, Mississippi<\/a> is the home of the grassroots effort to fight this amendment. Daily Kos<\/a> also has a thorough story on it.

- If you can afford it, you can donate at the site's link.

- You can contact the Democratic National Committee<\/a> to see why more of our representatives aren't speaking out against this.

- Like this Facebook page<\/a> to help spread awareness.

Not that I would have done it differently, since the whole point was to remove those connections that might have come through my daughter.
