In Romania there is a poultry breed raised in the hill region of Transylvania which has a better ... more In Romania there is a poultry breed raised in the hill region of Transylvania which has a better thermolysis than other breeds because its body plumage is up to 30% less than the normal one. The study presents the adaptive capacity to heat stress specific to this breed by analysing the growth performance of chicks and some physiological indicators.

The first lot earned at 20ºC, received a ration with 17% proteins, metabolisable energy 2750 kcal... more The first lot earned at 20ºC, received a ration with 17% proteins, metabolisable energy 2750 kcal/kg; the second lot earned at 32ºC, received a ration with 17% protein, metabolisable energy 2750 kcal/kg; and third lot earned at 32ºC received a ration with 19% protein, metabolisable energy 2750 kcal/kg. The experimental period was of 10 weeks (21-31 weeks). Than the first lot the medium value of hemoglobin was smaller with 12% at second lot and 7,2% at the third lot; the medium value of hematocrit receded with 11,1% at second lot and 8,1% at the third lot; the medium value of total plasma protein receded with 15,5% at second lot and 8,5% at the third lot. At the third lot rationincrease of with 10% protein up-holded the physiologically adaptation at thermic stress.

Studiul a urmărit să identifice modificările adaptative de hipertrofie și dilatație în cordul pul... more Studiul a urmărit să identifice modificările adaptative de hipertrofie și dilatație în cordul pulmonar cronic compensat, apărute în cazul a 10 câini, care s-au prezentat la clinica Facultăţii de Medicină Veterinară şi la clinica Doctor's Vet Univers, cu semne clinice de insuficiență respiratorie. Traseul ECG a evidenţiat: deviaţie axială dreaptă, unda P pulmonară, unda S adâncă în DII şi aVF, microvoltaj, tahicardie. Valoarea medie a tensiunii arteriale a fost de 160/10 mmHg. Ecocardiografic s-au înregistrat: o creştere moderată a diametrelor telediastolic şi telesistolic ale ventriculului drept; subţierea aparentă a peretelui liber ventricul drept; hipertrofie sept interventricular; fracţia de scurtare, a crescut cu 4% faţă de normal; fracţia de ejecţie a rămas nemodificată faţă de normal.

The experiments were conducted on 96, Synthetic Line Peris 345, suckling piglets (12 sows × 8 pig... more The experiments were conducted on 96, Synthetic Line Peris 345, suckling piglets (12 sows × 8 piglets per litter) reared within the intensive system. Piglets were weaned at 35 days. The experimental period was 42 days. The enzymatic preparation was incorporated 3% into the vitamin-mineral premix (Multigerm at E1 and Probios at E2). The total gain, from farrowing to the age of 42 days, was higher in the groups treated with growth promoting preparations: 15% higher in the group treated with MULTIGERM and 21% in the group treated with PROBIOS, the differences being statistically significant. The liveability index was improved by the two growth promoting preparations: 8% in the control group, 4% in group E1 and 2.5% in group E2, because the preparations modified the intestinal microbial balance favouring the health state of the animals.

The experiment was conducted on 72, Synthetic Line Peris 343 piglets, from 9 sows. The piglets of... more The experiment was conducted on 72, Synthetic Line Peris 343 piglets, from 9 sows. The piglets of group V1 received 3 ml Multigerm/piglet/day until the prestarter compound feed was given to them. The piglets from the experimental group 2 (V2) received 3 ml of the biopreparation per os when the diarrhoeic states appeared. In the suckling piglets Multigerm had a prophylactic effect against the states of unspecific diarrhoea when given per os during the first 8 days and than included 3% in the dietary vitamin-mineral premix and a curative effect when given in amount of 3ml per os, being an alternative to the antibiotics treatment.

Schimbările rapide în compoziţia fitoplanctonică ce au loc de la o săptămână la alta au pus în im... more Schimbările rapide în compoziţia fitoplanctonică ce au loc de la o săptămână la alta au pus în imposibilitate elaborarea unui sistem de evaluare a calităţii apei pe baza fitoplanctonului, care să se aplice în toate Statele Membre ale Comunităţii Europene. Din acest motiv fiecare stat are un sistem propriu de evaluare a acestuia, în care se regăsesc totuşi anumite elemente comune, cum ar fi observaţii legate de: înfloririle algale, proporţia algelor albastre în comparaţie cu cea a celorlalte grupe algale, diversitatea algală, rata dintre zooplancton şi biomasă exprimată prin clorofila ''a''. Dintre aceşti parametri, evaluarea biomasei fitoplanctonice, exprimată prin clorofila ''a'', alături de estimarea densităţii numerice a grupelor algale ce intră în componenţa fitoplanctonului şi a diversităţii populaţiilor algale, constituie elemente esenţiale în aprecierea stării ecologice a apelor de suprafaţă .

The altimetric and granulommetric proofs, as well as their shape, include them in the category of... more The altimetric and granulommetric proofs, as well as their shape, include them in the category of typical fluviatile limans from this point of view. The four analysed lakes contain fresh water with a higher mineralization than the Danube. The increase of concentration corresponds to the periods in which the connection with the river is interrupted. The marshes Vederoasa and Iortmac have a higher salt content due to underground supply. Due to its chemical properties, the water of all marshes are included in the class of bicarbonated waters – calcium group, when they are supplied by the Danube, or sodium group, when the connection with the river is interrupted and a chemical metamorphosis process takes place (Bugeac, Oltina, Dunareni marshes), or magnesium group when water supply comes from own sources (Vederoasa, Iortmac and Baciu marshes). Random daytime sampling procedure (RDT) was applied and 44 tap water samples were collected at the consumption point in March 2013. The monitoring data shows that the material used in the internal distribution system of the consumers' buildings significantly impacted on the tap water quality in terms of metal pollution. Quality control of drinking water in Brasov Municipality using first draw and full flush sampling procedures

The present study investigates the influence of in-house installation systems to the tap water qu... more The present study investigates the influence of in-house installation systems to the tap water quality in Brasov Municipality in order to get an overview of the current contamination levels of drinking water at the consumer’s tap. In a sampling campaign organized in March 2013, the samples were collected from customer’s cold line pipe with first draw (1st liter taken in the morning from kitchen without previous flush of the tap) and fully flushed sampling (after flushing five minutes same tap) procedures. In the monitoring program were included samples from Tarlung Water Plant, drinking water samples from storage tanks situated in different Brasov areas, 34 samples from customer’s tap and 12 samples from branch pipes. The investigated parameters (metals, organic compounds and microbiological parameters) were those included in Romania Legislation in accordance with European Drinking Water Directive 98/83/EC. Bacterial adherence to cellular substrate is a very complex process consisting in specific interactions between the surface of host cell and bacterial cell surface respectively. It was demonstrated that bacteria which adhere and form biofilms on catheters and other inert materials used in medicine are resistant to the therapeutic antibiotic concentrations being protected by the biofilm mathrix and generating severe and hard to treat infections. There are only few studies on the influence of antibiotics on the bacterial adhesins synthesis and bacterial adherence to the cellular substrate. It was demonstrated that bacteria which adhere and form biofilms on catheters and other inert materials used in medicine are resistant to the therapeutic antibiotic concentrations being protected by the biofilm mathrix and generating severe and hard to treat infections.
