萬里

Wanli

Wànlǐ (萬里) stretches along Taiwan’s northern coastline in New Taipei. The district is best known for the Yehliu Geopark and its weathered rock formations, particularly the Queen’s Head. Inland, the hills once supported extensive coal mining operations, remnants of which can still be found. The Wanli UFO Village, a collection of abandoned pod-shaped vacation homes from the 1980s, remains one of northern Taiwan’s most internationally famous ruins.
