An old railway tunnel built in the Japanese colonial era for transportation of sugarcane. Back in those days pushcarts would have been moved by hand or oxen through this tunnel. In the post-war era it was converted into a road tunnel. It is the last of Nantou County’s railway tunnels still in use, and apparently also the longest of those built to support the sugar industry in Puli.
