Formerly associated with Yunlin Junior High School (雲林國中), this building was designed by Wang Jichang (王濟昌) and was slated for demolition in 2009 after the campus was converted for use by Yunlin Technical College (雲林技術學院). Civic groups mobilized to preserve this old school building dating back to 1968 and it was declared a heritage property the following year.
