The article considers the nowadays evolution of the visual language in photojournalism. Based on the analytical resources and the works by famous theorists and researchers, as well as his own thirty years experience as a photojournalist, the author proposes tracing the changes that have affected the expressive abilities of the photographic content in media, and the dependence of these changes on the objective factors.
