Injun-2 [UoI]

The satellite Injun 2 was the second of a series of ionospheric research spacecraft designed and built by the University of Iowa to study the natural and artificial trapped radiation belts, auroras and airglow, and other geophysical phenomena.

It contained following experiments:

  • Trapped and Auroral Particles
  • Auroral and Airglow Photos
  • Magnetometers

Injun 2 was launched together with four other payloads as a cluster on a Thor-DM21 Able-Star rocket, but failed to reach orbit.
