The hymns on the album were:
When I Survey The Wondrous Cross,
We Speak Of The Realms Of The Blest,
I Heard The Voice Of Jesus Say,
There Is Sunlight On The Hilltop,
Jesus Lover Of My Soul,
I Will Follow Thee My Savior,
I'm A Pilgrim,
Holy Holy Holy,
Crowded Is Your Heart With Cares,
There's A Land That Is Fairer Than Day,
When Faint And Weary Toiling,

Contains an interesting exposition on a poem Ellen White included with an article she wrote when her twin sister lost a six-week-old baby. It also has the poem on the back of Ellen White's second book.

After years of knowing about the event, I decided to compare her descriptions to what was then known of astronomy and to what is known today. From both perspectives, her brief vision is amazing.

This document contains answers to twelve of these with exhibits, new research, and careful documentation. It refutes exhibits posted against Ellen White.
Updated January 22, 2024.
This document was prepared to give readers an idea of what the chapter might have looked like if Marian Davis had used Ellen White’s entire “Huss Manuscript” in The Great Controversy. It also addresses, in the footnotes, assertions that Ellen White mistakenly recounted the events before Huss's martyrdom. This subject is more amply treated in the chapter "Cleaning Up After 'Friendly Fire' " (available at https://www.academia.edu/31680843/Cleaning_Up_After_Friendly_Fire_).
I apologize that some labels under illustrations do not show. This has to do with the Adobe driver, and I could not figure it out.

The Man Jesus: His Life as Told By Four Who Knew Him,
so I carefully worked every detail of the passion of Christ from all four Gospels into a single account.
Enjoy and be blessed.
On page 4, "the discontinuity of other Old Testament observances in Hebrew" should read "the discontinuity of other Old Testament observances in Hebrews."
The new 2018 edition is annotated to reflect recent research in literary studies of Ellen White's use of sources and Marian Davis's role as editor of her books.
This selection includes the first chapter with some additional exhibits. It was last updated 12/29/18.
The full printed or PDF edition of the book is available through Honor Him Publishers. [email protected]
In THE WHITE LIE, author Walter Rea included many examples of literary parallels between Ellen White's writings and earlier writers. This fulfilled aspects of the FIRST step in the evaluation of literary parallels. He did not mark the parallels in any way or provide an evaluation of their usage.
Hampered by a dictational view of Inspiration, Rea wrongly concluded that Ellen White copied 75-90% of her writings from other authors. (Websites that repeated this charge have over the last several decades quietly removed this exponentially inflated figure. Current documentation of literary parallels is currently at 4% for the corpus of her published writings.) Rea held a binary notion about Inspiration--either THE DESIRE OF AGES was “the work of Ellen and the angels” (TWL 222) or Ellen White and her assistants drew it “largely from other writers” (TWL 72). Rea precipitously opted for the latter, not waiting for the outcome of Fred Veltman's research in "The Life of Christ Research Project."
WHITE LIE SOAP, "Only the First Step," is an expansion of Chapter 3 of WHITE LIE SOAP (2013). Because of space constraints, the listing of parallels required condensation. (The full chapter was included in a little known first edition of WHITE LIE SOAP. See https://books.google.com/books/about/White_Lie_SOAP.html?id=r2dglwEACAAJ.)
Rea read the manuscript for WHITE LIE SOAP before publication and before he died in 2014, and he gave it positive marks. "I have read the entire manuscript. You have done a fine job." Nonetheless, because of his view of Inspiration, he likely did not understand its conclusions.
In the eight-year study entitled, "The Life of Christ Research Project," Dr. Fred Veltman made a valuable contribution to the study of Ellen G. White's use of sources in THE DESIRE OF AGES by cataloguing and categorizing sources used in 15 random chapters in THE DESIRE OF AGES.
This chapter from my 2009 book, WHITE LIE SOAP, takes Veltman's system of evaluation a step further, creating a visual system that informs the reader at a glance what was used from previous authors and suggesting the uniqueness of Ellen White's perspective and treatment of the subject.
The following excerpt from Journeying to the Same Heaven is a careful analysis of Ellen White's statements on amalgamation.
The first chapter, "What 'Elephant'?" investigates why Americans ignored the issue of slavery in relation to the Civil War, and it places Seventh-day Adventist within the context of other abolitionists of the period.
In other chapters are a fuller treatment of Ellen White's Civil War messages, an exploration of conditions in the South that caused the church that Ellen White helped to start in the midst of the war to delay its work among the freedmen when the war was over and the post-war Seventh-day Adventist strategy for working among blacks under the extreme prejudice of the Jim Crow period.
This chapter from the book WHITE LIE SOAP presents evidence that the scholars missed in their research, which was likely due to the assumptions they held in doing their research. Faulty assumptions lead to mistaken judgments; scholars can make mistakes.
My interest in this series began when I was looking through Adventist sources to find eyewitness accounts of Ellen White in vision.
Because the book EARLY WRITINGS contains an edited version of these two books, together with SPIRITUAL GIFTS, volume 1, which overlapped some of the earlier two books, there is a second table in this document that lists the duplication between EXPERIENCE AND VIEWS and SUPPLEMENT and SPIRITUAL GIFTS, volume 1.
The latest update (3/14/2022) includes marginal designations for the visions and James White's letters to THE DAY-STAR, which relate to early Adventist beliefs, indexing for the additional notes in the document, and enhanced photographs of Ellen White, her sister, Sarah, and Annie R. Smith, and William Ellis Foy's published visions, with notes.
While working in Europe in the 1880s, Ellen White had occasion to take notes in her diary from Calvin E. Stowe’s first chapter in Origin and History of the Books of the Bible. These pages remained tucked away until transcribed as Ms. 24, 1886 and published as an explanation of her concept of “thought inspiration.” Her description was first identified as originating with Stowe in William S. Peterson’s article, “Ellen White’s Literary Indebtedness.”

Updated October 19, 2021
In September 2017, I uploaded an annotated version of DrMcAdams’ unpublished research paper (1974, 1977) on Ellen White’s Huss manuscript. Because he decided to publish the paper in book form (see Ellen White and the Historians: A Neglected Problem and a Forgotten Answer), I removed the annotated document.
His work is one piece of the puzzle.
Dividing his paper into six parts, Specht addresses questions regarding Ellen White's independence as an author:
1. Did Ellen White copy Hanna?
2. Did Ellen White paraphrase Hanna?
3. Supposition or certainty?
4. Does Ellen White correct Hanna?
5. Is Ellen White in agreement with Hanna's biblical interpretations?
6. The central theological theme of the Desire of Ages
The work was superseded in part by the detailed work of Fred Veltman's 1988 Life of Christ Research Project, which dealt with additional authors, though covering fewer chapters.
From ongoing research, the editor summarizes Ellen White's use of Hanna this way:
"Hanna’s Life of Christ provided some background details and structure for the flow of many of the chapters in the book. Ellen White carried over scattered wording in the process of using his narratives to remind her of what she had seen in vision and to help include the essential points of the story. The recognizable parallels tend to be scattered words from the narrative rather than specific gems of thought." (Kevin L. Morgan, White Lie Soap, p. 76)
