Why did I get watched?

Someone who watches you here on SF also wanted to get a private Telegram notification as soon as you upload a new submission or journal!

I get SF notifications on top right corner already. Why is this service useful?

It's true you can already see when a new submission or journal was posted on SF. But you need to manually check SF to do that.

This service automatically lets you know what's new wherever you are by sending a notification to your Telegram account, much like a Facebook or Twitter notification!

How can I get notifications for someone?

1. Find and start the bot. Its username is @FAwatchbot.

2. Upon starting, bot asks a link to your SF account page (password is NEVER required, bot needs only your watchlist, but keep in mind that you will need to confirm your account ownership within a week through SF message);

3. Service will scan your watchlist and ask you who should be added to watch notifications (no more than 300; you may ask me for a limit raise, but please be rational on how many :> );

4. Lastly, service will add users from your newly created custom watchlist on this account.


Done! When someone from your watchlist submits something (submission or journal, it's up to you) - you will recieve a notification in Telegram with an optional preview.

Why use this dedicated account, why add someone in its watchlist?

In short: Using this account helps to keep perfomance impact at the lowest point.
Long answer: This technical account was created in order to carefully minimise the impact as much as possible. Instead of fetching the countless galleries, bot fetches only his submissions notifications and cleans them up after it's done, keeping it empty. More of this, the service tracks the number of requests to a website, to limit them and to make a time gap between them. (I will gladly discuss the service internals and about any concerns over its behaviour, so please contact me if in doubt.)

Why did I get REwatched?

When last user unwatches a watched person, this service waits for a two weeks and then unwatches that person on this account. But it is always possible that someone will add that person again.

Few tips

If you find notifications annoying, just disable "Notifications" in a bot's profile (old screenshot) - they will still arrive, but will not bother you with sound/vibration.
If you want to completely disable the notifications, there's a buttons called "Submissions" and "Journals". Yes, it's that easy :) When you re-enable it, the bot won't send you what you have missed, instead it will show you the number of missed notifications (works only with submissions), and that all.
If you want to disable your account, just block the bot. But if you want to change SF username, please contact @feathers directly.
