Welcome to my humble abode here! She swings one arm up and around to gesture to the long, word-filled page before she gave a little shrug. I, I mean- it, might not seem like much on the outside, but come on in! Let me introduce myself, I'm Pickles. While I've been lingering around this site for a long time, it's only been recently where I've really wanted to dive into the community we house here! But, before I talk your ear off, come in! Talk a gander~
Writing:
Whenever anyone asks how long I've been writing, I always tell them, "for as long as I could hold a pen." As a child, my head was a place to traipse into and explore, like a dense forest that housed unique breeds of animals and tart berries ready to be plucked out and enjoyed. As I age, I struggle to balance my maturity, that has long been present, well before my years and my childish nature. I find myself saying often, "I'm a child!" and honestly, it's the truth! I've retained much of my childish delight, wonder, imagination, and desire to be lost in something other worldly. That is, in part, why I connect so much with putting words down onto a page because then you aren't limited by anything that nature can or cannot produce. We don't have to remain fur-less on the page, we can sprout tails; that's the true beauty of writing!
Most of what I do on here is my written work, which you can see in my Stories tab below or to the left. I do have plans for doing more of my personal work in the, possibly near, future. For now, I do more commissions than anything else. If you're interested in commissions, either look for my current promotions in Journals or simply contact me. I have yet to create any form of regime for setting up commissions or a schedule of when I'm accepting them or not, truthfully, I may never.
Hobbies:
If you've looked through my gallery you know at least one of my personal hobbies! I love to bake, especially cupcakes. I don't know exactly what draws me to the kitchen, but nothing really compares with my enjoyment there. I love to make food, baked goods, and most of all miniature cakes. I post photos of a lot of what I make, if you're interested see my photo gallery.
I also have a passion for animals, I have many animals- cats, mostly. I love each one dearly, like their my babies. I do volunteering at my local humane society when I can and my family has fostered to-be-killed animals for a local shelters for years. The experience has exposed me with so many wonderful animals that I saw go into perfect homes, it makes my day. Currently, I have four cats with my father's family and six with my mother's family: Quix, Quinella, Q-tip, Quentin (Butt Cat), Missy, Zoey, Scooter, Bumpkin, Pickles (my angry namesake), and Merry. As for dogs, I have a German Shepherd with my father's family, Mr. Canis whose is my furry stud and a huge baby. With my mother's family I have a trio of pugs and a fourth in memory only: Lucy, the fattest lady pug you'll ever meet, Mr. Pug, a daper ball of man-meat, and Rosy, the sweetest little black pug who has ever hid beneath the couch! In the future, I should put up pictures of all my babies!
Also, even when I'm not writing, my love with words continues through reading! I truly love to find new books! In fact, suggestions of books are always welcome! If you have a book that's really inspired you, tell me about it! Leave me a shout with the name, author, and the story of what you went through with that book! Nothing can be as powerful in inspiring me to read something than experiencing what you gained from it. As for some of my personal favorites, I have a current romance with the Night Angel trilogy by Brent Weeks, a underlying passion for David Levithan and all his novels, and spastic affairs with Stephen King- to name just a few favorites. I read from almost any genre, but I especially love good LGBT literature and things that are out of the box a bit.
Roleplay:
I do actually love to roleplay, but recently I've fallen out of the habit! A few too many people ditching me mid-story and plot lines that died partway through added with the perpetual problem of uninspired partners have led to me falling out of habit with it. If you ever have a striking story line and the desire to pour your soul into a play, lemme know.
What Else?
Did I forget something? Did I leave some question unanswered or leaving you still wondering who is this strange girl behind the butt icon, ask me a question! Otherwise, take a look at my work, leave me a shout with your favorite book, or go drool over my cupcakes! Thanks for visiting :3
