I write fantasy stories with a furry flavor and I sometimes talk about my characters like they're real people. I tend to refer to myself as a novelist, and I've even gone so far as to write two books to prove it. I have plans to get them published if I can ever find somebody silly enough to go for it.
I've been in the furry fandom for thirteen years and I don't give a damn what anybody else thinks. Some of the best people I've ever met have come from this fandom. One or two of the worst, too, but c'est la vie. My avatar (I hate the word "fursona") is a brown and white cottontail rabbit named Niamh. That's her in the user picture up there. She has only recently become my avatar after a long independent existence, and she still mostly does what she wants.
I'm MtF transgendered and reasonably open about it. I'm lucky enough to have friends, who accept me and after a lifetime of pretending to be someone I'm not, it's a relief to let myself be who I am.
Niamh is a fantasy. She is as much a representative of who I wish I could be as who I am. So, sometimes, the lines between fantasy and reality get a little blurry. But at the end of the day she is still me, just with fur and the ability to actually look good in a skirt. So please be nice and remember that there's a real person behind the cute little doe.
