+_Story_+

Da does not have much of a memory to call his
own. When he arrived in this land, he was just barely
able to walk, and already he was about four feet
tall. He was taught how to speak the local language
by the slave trader that owned him.

He was sold to a noble monkey family for
gold, though he was never told for how much. The
great size and power of the exotic rhino was
something that the prideful monkeys loved to show
off. He was not only as tall if not taller than most
elephants, but just as strong and heavy. He made for
the best gold miner, and was awarded with a golden
cap on his horn by his masters with their seal etched
upon it.

Da, (named "giant" at the time) was just an
adolescent, nearly 9 feet tall, when he saved one of
his primate slave drivers' lives. He was allowed one
gift, and the gift he chose was freedom, and the
honorable nobles allowed it and set him free.

Now a young adult, fully grown at 10', the
rhinocerous has earned the name Da Bangshou, or "Big Helper" due his generous attitude among poor in the eastern parts of the world. During his earlier days of freedom, the rhino was encouraged to join the elite guard of a family of canine nobles. The dog that encouraged this became Da's best friend, and proved his friendship when Da refused to kill a peasant on the streets who accidentally bumped into a noble of the house. Da, his life saved by his best friend, was banished from his position as an elite guard, though he benefited greatly from the training
he earned in the art of armored axe and shield combat.

These days, he travels by himself, living off of the land and off what money he can make doing odd jobs here and there. He is a decent blacksmith, and wood carver. He often asks in a deep, yet quiet voice, "Might you have a job for me?"

"Charity sees the need, not the cause."
"May I help you?"
