Alienated from his brother, Darris lived for years in seclusion with his mate in a remote mountain cave far from the capitol of his home world, Eridon. Darris and his mate lived more or less peacefully during those years; though Darris occasionally encountered others of his kind while out hunting or scouting his territory. One day while out hunting Darris encounters an old friend who'd come bearing news of the exile of his brother, Solem. Darris remained unsympathetic to his brother's apparent fate, but found it odd that the judging council withheld the nature of Solem's crime and the location of his exile. It was not required of the council to disclose such information, more like a custom practiced for as long any could remember. Even so, to go against the custom so abruptly without precedence or prior warning was uncharacteristic; enough to make Darris' curious over what had been so special about Solem's crime that it would cause the council to behave so uncharacteristically.
Urged by his mate and a need to know the truth, Darris left his life of seclusion to journey to the one place he believed he could find answer: The Dragon Council in Eridon's capitol. But Darris learned neither. The moment he arrived at the capitol and announced who he is he is arrested and imprisoned to await trial. While in prison he was visited by a dragon who announced himself as a Klerick and explained to Darris that there was more at stake than appeared. Darris pressed the dragon to explain, but the dragon simply urged Darris to find his brother if he wished to know the truth.
The dragon did offer Darris one piece of information: He believed Solem was exiled to another world. So, to aide Darris, the dragon gave him a magical crystal and explained that is would allow Darris to travel between worlds in his search. But the dragon warned that the crystal's magic would allow Darris entry into a given world only once, and only to the world it was attuned to the strongest at the time, making the destination unpredictable. To embark on the search Darris risked never seeing his mate or home world again. Afterwards the dragon freed Darris. Convinced more then ever, and an apparent fugitive, Darris saw little option but to take the risk and make the journey to find his brother, learn the truth and clear his name.
Darris spent years after traveling from world to world on the lonely journey apart from his mate, enjoying the company and relief of those he'd met along the way. One day many years later the crystal opened a gate way to the world of humans, the very same his brother had been exiled to, unbeknownst to Darris. Following an encounter with a band of hostile humans that left him wounded and his crystal damaged, Darris recovered and was forced to disguise himself as a human that he might continue his search. By chance he came into contact with a friendlier host of humans who called themselves furries. Intrigued, Darris considered the group perfect cover, even so far as to have his own garment (called a "fursuit") made in the likeness of a wolf which he wore to meets and conventions he attended, hoping each time that he would find a lead that would bring him one step closer to his brother and the truth.

A network of shiny onyx scales overlays the gray, covering his head, back, upper side base of his tail shoulders and front portion of his thighs. The onyx layer diffuses into a speckled pattern all around its outer edges. Each hind limb posses a sapphire blue sock running from the paw up to the ankle. Each forelimb possesses the same color sock, with the blue continuing up along the back side up to elbow. Instead of spines he has a blue mane that runs from the top of his head down the full length of his back stopping at the base of his tail. The scutes along his chest and belly are sapphire blue. The underside of his tail is sapphire blue about halfway down the tail's length. The end of his tail is adorned with a sapphire blue spade tip. His large wings are framed with onyx colored bones and gray membranes. He wares a gold band around each wrist and four gold bands spaced evenly along the lower end of his tail just behind the tip.
