Current Projects: "Tales from Shady Grove" - A collection of themed short stories.

~ ~ ~

Shady
Grove is a sleepy little township up around the northeast coastal area;
a village getting it's name from the copious amount maples, oaks, and
other shade trees that cover it's landscape. While small, serene, and
somewhat unremarkable; the changing of the leaves still brings tourists
each year, usually of the adventurous or non-conformist, quiet sort who
enjoy finding places off the beaten trail--quaint and interesting spots
that other people are unlikely to know about. They are well rewarded for
doing so, as Shady Grove boasts some of the largest and most
interesting specimens of these beautiful trees for miles around.

The
studious tourist might find the brochures at the seldom-staffed
information booth to be of interest. Shady Grove has been partially (or
completely) destroyed and rebuilt a total of three times as far as
records go back. The flora and fauna are of a peculiar nature, slightly
different from the surrounding areas, and so the occasional scientist
has passed through to study some of these natural beauties, perhaps
staying in one of the homey Bed and Breakfast establishments the town
has to offer. The town also boasts some of the best medical and
rehabilitation facilities on the continent, so cherished for the
surrounding beauty and serenity that people have been known to fly from
thousands of miles away to make use of their expertise, including a
couple of exciting celebrities!

But you, the unconventional
explorer, probably have little use for brochures: preferring to seek out
and find hidden beauty where others seldom tread. If that is the case,
your stay here in Shady Grove might prove adventuresome indeed. Perhaps
you will find a tree not listed in any textbook or naturalist manual. Or
enjoy one of the lesser known delicacies that tends to appear only
around Halloween. (Nobody knows who makes them.) And if you feel
yourself becoming tired, (altered, or otherwise disoriented), you can be
sure there is no shortage of places to rest your head in this humble
little town.

Just be careful which one you choose.
