Getting ready for a fun day at the beach. Who says rabbits don't need sunscreen? Just because we have fur doesn't mean we can't find a use for it.

Do animals tend to get sunburn beneath their fur? I can see it happening where it's thinner, like the ears and belly, but does the sunlight get through thicker fur enough to do that?
I honestly don't know. To the best of my knowledge, they don't sunburn except, like you said, where the fur is thinner, or if they're essentially hairless like some cat and rat breeds. But I do know that the sun can still hurt them, since my old horse passed away from cancer at age 20. Mind you, his coat was all white and he had all pink skin, so he was likely more vulnerable to that sort of thing than some.
