You have a point. To be honest i was iffy on the nose on the blonde one as well but its easily fixed if I feel like doing so would help the character. As for the fur tent the close blend for the light and dark is on purpose, what I have planted for her is that the shading is going to bring out the definition in the difference if the two shades and I'm also planing on blending in three more shades of brown to the darker yellow. (For future voters. ^^)
