It's readily apparent that this is one of those pieces where it could be either, depending on the viewer, and how the piece makes them feel.
I really love how your pieces always seem to have this juxtaposition of dark with rays of light. It's very Thomas Kinkade, but instead of focusing on cottages, castles, dusk skies, and candle-lit windows, your pieces focus on a character and the emotions they're enduring in each piece.
It's really quite lovely. As I turn the brightness down, and then up, y'know, on my laptop screen, it really makes the details come into focus, adding more to the story of each picture as the screen gets brighter.
That's why I compared your work to Kinkade. He's the 'painter of light,' and you seem to be the artist of shadows, in a sense, which really does a lot for your art, in the same way that playing in minor keys makes metal and blues music powerful and emotional.
I'm going back through all my watch-list / submissions list, and I realized that you've posted a LOT of pieces since whenever I started following you.
So, I decided to comment on a few of the most recent updates before heading out to grab some dinner.
Great work, bud.
