Chapter Eleven: Fly the Moon to Me, Part One
“I don't want to beat around the bush on this issue, I need to start talking about this already!" Isaac screamed into the air as he walked back into the sitting room of the military base. He was alone, the room was empty, no sun shined through the windows, only pure moon light rayed in from a single point, illuminating the room enough.
“Computer get me a drink and start a log." Isaac yelled into the room, a light above him in the middle of the dome shape room shined and out beaconed a yellow light, Isaac's eyes adjusted and on the center table a single drink, a glass of gin and a single ice cube in the center.
The Outsider reached out and grabbed it, and he took his first sip. Instantly the high of the ethanol mentally occurring. And yet his eyes drifted over to the window, the moon light peering into the room. He drifted them away back to his drink and poured it into his throat. The burn took away the mental pain he was in, what had happened, what he had seen.
“Computer active drinks on me mode." Isaac shouted and as soon as he did another glass filled to the brink appeared. He laughed, the computer got his scene of humor, he grabbed it and threw a second down his throat. Throwing the glass haphazardly behind him, the matter generator grabbed it before it could shatter.
“Now then I said I would make a log, so Log Date: October 13, 2018; I Isaac need to talk about what I have done, this morning I would have been sleeping if not for the guilt on my mind. Morning is an arbitrary term. But this is a huge victory for me and this might be the turning point for the war! So, I may have cheated, lied and used horrible tactics to do what I had to and started to work with an enemy, and be an accessory to murder but well, I'll tell you later." Isaac monologued as he looked forward and grabbed a third drink and started to sip on it.
“But this all started earlier this night, when as I alone decided to relief myself at about midnight, when through the pale moonlight a shining shadow appeared into my window. While I shoved my boxers back on, a shadow walked into my room and quickly made himself known."
…
Isaac stood still, his hands held up and yet a set of handcuffs were on his wrists, twisting them around, he felt the tiny particles and he knew them well enough, they were nanobots. And as the silhouetted shark stood in the shadow of the moonlight, a blue aura around from his body.
“So then you think you can come into the room of an Outsider and attempt to kidnap me because I would have gladly come with you, I need to talk my mind off this haphazard war; but let's not beat around the bush, who the hell are you and why are you barking up this tree?" Isaac asked as he looked at the intruder, the nanobot shark walked ahead.
“So then the silent type, or are you Joss impersonating a shark and trying to get me to come with you; the handcuffs aren't working." Isaac told the shark and he got a laugh from him. This voice sounded different, it was deeper than Finn, Joss or even Bright.
“Question, have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?" The shadow let his hand go and as he opened the joints, the nanobots fell to his bed, flowing like a stream into the shark's foot. Isaac looked up confused as he did, he twisted his hand and looked ahead.
“Wow you must be really dumb." Isaac insulted and he jumped out of his bed, flying forward throwing his fist forward. The intruder simply stepped out of the way as if he anticipated it. Isaac landed on the ground and stood up, nearly naked but with the light he could see the metallic back of the shark.
“Fine then." Isaac unleashed his fist, pushing it forward and letting the shark deal with it. A wall of nanobots rose up from the ground and blocked the hit, Isaac pulled his hand back. Cursing as he felt the pain travel up his arm, shaking it out, he looked at the enemy at his gate.
“Fine then, give me the benefit of the doubt; I am a god as you will see, tainted by these nanobots, but I have a mission for you; from the future." The shark explained and held himself still as he pointed to the clothes on the ground. “Put them on and climb out the window, we need to go to the forest."
“Sure you wouldn't like me to go naked, seems like that is how most villains like me to be sometimes. But then again you might not compare to Nick Ruby, in pure villainous whoreyness." Isaac flippantly walked over and threw on his set of clothes from the other day, and yet as he turned around he should have seen the face of the intruder but it was obscured as if with living shadow.
“I'm sorry but my mission is of love, yet t you would be up the wrong tree; as for the forest while you are still thinking on it, I need to be completely alone and sure of it when you are told the truth you don't know." The shark disclosed, silently and stoically, no emotions, almost like an ambassador to the nanobots.
“So then a mission from the future and a metallic men coming to me while I am naked, is this the gay version of the Terminator? So then what is with your face, got a scar to hide or something you don't want me to see. Like how you the face of my boyfriend?" Isaac asked whipping his hand to the left, the shark stood still and as the face eclipsed the light, the shadow stood still, like a layer glued on to him.
“I might work in strange ways, but if I am captured well the Kagens have a strange way of knowing faces without seeing them." With a smiled on his face, as the shark jumped out of the window, a chain of nanobots grabbed onto Isaac. The warrior was knocked off his feet and flew out of his open window and into the shining moonlight.
Landing on the ground, the shark ran forward; his nanobots taking him at hyperspeed. Isaac used his powers to float, not content with being dragged along like a dog toy. And then a few hundred meters into the forest, they came to a stop at a large campfire. Built high, it was more of a bonfire but not hot, it only lit up the area around.
“Sorry for that but I have to work at a drop of a hat, and while this dalliance might be horrid and new for you; I have planned for this moment. Because while you don't remember, an hour or so you were dragged into a new timeline as due to time travel, this timeline turned into a second temporary version of the so-called bad timeline; it was fixed when we made sure this timeline existed again and you forgot." The shark babbled on, the chain reeling into his hand and disappearing. The warrior turned around and was one again silhouetted by the light of the fire behind him.
“What are you on or what is the method to your madness?" Isaac asked, walking over to a tree and turning behind, the military base just a little bit behind him. He could probably run if not for the seeming mastery the man had with the nanobot's.
“Oh really, well let's go the whole nine yards and give to you straight from the horse's mouth, by giving you some ripple proof memory." The shark revealed and grabbing Isaac; he hit their heads together. Both Outsider and Nanobot screamed and then flooding into his mind was a second set of memories, some the same, some massively different but all from a different timeline.
“Did I burn to my death in that timeline, and what; where are the nanobots and why did everyone die?" Isaac eyes peered out of him and the shark smiled, he could see that as the shadow walked forward. “This is beyond anything I've dealt with before, who the hell are you and how do you know this all?"
“Well you should make scene for you, I am there and I believe I discussed my plan with you but allow me to introduce myself; you may call me a Kagen, a traitor, or a nanobot, even a vampire; but I am doing this for you and my boyfriend Colin, and my name is Bright." The shark snapped his finger and the shadow drained from his face, the familiar face tarnished by metal and regeneration appearing.
“You mean?"
“Well I always trusted, and while I do let sleeping dogs lie; but well I need one more thing from you. I need you to end this war with my help." Nanobot Bright talked with good intentions and he smiled. And yet Isaac heard the same self-serving tone used by the empire's leaders.
…
“It was the perfect plan and I knew it, if this Bright could be trusted and I believed him to be so, then this would kill two stones with one stone and three timelines and yet I would not be that lucky." Isaac walked around the room and looked over to the light in the window.
…
Finn stood up, his leg sore still; but as he stood in the pale moonlight of the cafeteria, he knew he couldn't sleep. And he couldn't sleep with Isaac, else risk his leg even more. And yet as the alarm blared above him, he knew that he had to do something about his hornyness.
“Finn, you're up. Get some sleep, something in Reno, Nevada." The shark turned his head and he saw Iren, dressing herself and putting on her jacket running forward. “Don't worry, me, Tidus and Basil got it."
“Bye good luck." Finn waved to her as she ran towards the vehicle bay, Tidus came running next. Smiling as he walked over to his father.
“Looks like I get to save the day this time, I hope I don't make you jelly with my good skills and all that." Tidus bragged, he was in the bragging stage this time. The father shark simply stood there and smiled, raising his hand. Tidus took it to the next step, grabbing the hand and pulling himself in, the two hugging.
“Go to bed, no one cares if you are with Isaac instead of the medical bay, once Barry's power is restored then he will heal it, goodbye dad." Tidus said and he ran over to the vehicle bay as well, Bright and Basil walked out, the sharks kissing and then running off in their own directions. Finn raised his hand and got a wave out of the sharkgon.
…
“So then here is the plan, you need to get me control of the nanobots again, I am the nanobot master after all and I only need control for five minutes. All that is, and I can do that with a virus. And the version of the Virus is very unstable, but it has to in order to get around the instability of the nanobots." Bright explained as he reached into his pocket and picked up a flash drive.
“And that means?"
“Whoever gets this, will die once this is plugged into them. Except Joss, it will not work on him. He is too connected, they have him on the highest security; and no lowly nanobot will work because they always aren't connected; which is why I need someone in the middle who is a nanobot."
“No."
“Yes, Billy, and when that happens my final plan to get the Kagens and the Riftwalkers to work together after twenty centuries will come together and peace will happen in one of the timelines." Bright looked up into the sky with esteem in his voice and he looked over to Isaac, the shark still in disbelief at what he might have to do.
“I know but Billy, he and Ross…" Isaac raised in disbelief.
“I know but they are a sacrifice that will have to be made for this, and if not well we have a few days; come and meditate with me and see the mission you and your friends are on." Bright asked of Isaac as he sat down and held out his hand, Isaac sat down as well and with some apprehension grabbed onto the hand of the nanobot, and then his mind opened he saw his friends.
…
“So then where is this thing?" Iren asked as she walked out of her jeep, looking forward she saw the town of fire. Massive building collapses in the center and only spreading to the outside now, she held her energy shotgun in her hand. Basil held on to his sword and Tidus prepared with his hands up in the air. “I don't think this place will be a state capital anytime soon."
“Well aren't you on the ball tonight." Tidus spoke with humor on his mind as he walked forward, Basil threw his sword up to the side of the building. The shark followed in a second and turned his head over the side, coming up with nothing as he looked to the side and then the other side. He came up understandably with nothing.
“Well shit, I got nothing, it looks like whoever did this got out of the bandwagon in this case…" Basil laughed as well, falling to the ground and then a massive step, something massive behind them. Iren stood still and so did Tidus, a breath of warm air blown on their back.
“Oh, I swear to god if this is Elijah." Iren could not know how right she was as she turned around and looked up to the massive glowing beast. On top of his back, Ignatius stood there and looked down, he was holding a collar on the beast. He controlled him, Elijah finally quenched and his power put to terrifying use.
“Oh I'm sorry did you call, because we don't like when you swear at us." Ignatius said as he put five fingers into the air. Bright quickly grabbed the two and threw his sword into the flaming city, the blade catching in a street sign. Ignatius smiled as they started to teleport. “Oh come on that is cheating… But then again I do like when my prey is running from me at full speed, because I can go faster! HA!"
Slapping down the whip in his hand, Elijah roared out into the air and jumped forward, Ignatius smiled as he watched the Outsiders react in the heat of the moment. Iren struggled, running forward Basil turned back and threw his sword back again. It barely stuck the Riftwalker, he held his hand out and the sword teleported back. Igantius smiled, he managed to send the three Outsiders into the burning city, with a smile of glee on his face, he looked around at his burning work.
“I knew it, it could be boomeranged!" Basil cried, Iren glancing over to him. With his feet striking the ground he put his hand on his sword and looked around examining the burning fire around him, he saw a building barely standing but of use. Situated right on a wall of buildings, it was perfect for his plan “Oh, right time to do something cool!"
Basil held out his hands and Tidus grabbed Iren's and she Basil's. Opening his wings and flapping them forward, he would need a running start to get high in the air. So, with grace Basil threw his sword into the building, the blade piecing into the wooden decorations. The hilt of the forged metal shined with a light and opening his wings Basil smiled. The three teleported and as the Riftwalker grabbed his sword, flapping them forward with his strength.
Elijah roared as his prey flew over the set of burning buildings, Basil celebrating as he flew the Outsiders over the wall of houses. Flowing forward with his wings open he glided forward, Iren and Tidus dangling haphazardly in behind him. He looked down at her glancing bitch face and he threw his sword forward, it landed in the desert.
Iren landed in the pale moonlight, body hitting the ground, she groaned and laughed standing up. Looking over to Basil and Tidus, both of them took a breath for a second, their troubles over. And then the stomping in the distance stopped.
“Well then we managed to keep them at bay, want to do that again?" Iren asked as she laughed, putting her hand on Tidus and taking a breath. And then suddenly the sound of collapsing buildings caught her attention. She looked over and watched, a massive wave of green energy burning down the building, and Elijah flying through landing on the ground.
“Well I call hacks." Tidus spoke putting his hand up and blasting out electricity, Iren threw her hands up as well and tried to restrain the beast again. And yet Elijah broke free and charged forward.
…
“No!" Isaac stood up and looked over to the shark, he was just standing there doing nothing. Bright opened his eyes and raised himself up with grace. Isaac looked at him as if he was surprised. “They can't handle Elijah, hell I can't handle him, only an army of Kagens is able to hold him off at this point in his mutation!"
“And, what should I do. I am not the one unable to realize the full potential of my power." Bright spoke as he looked over, both of them stood still, the fire burning for a few seconds. A branch broke and a few pieces collapsed.
“Wait you mean, you think I am holding back?" Isaac asked as he looked over to the shark, Bright smiled as his body reflected the fire, Isaac saw the fire in his soul and raised his hand.
“Just like the stars in the sky, Gravity effects all objects and if you think that we can affect the moon or Jupiter affect us and we affect it, well I think you can do it as well." Bright added and Isaac took a breath, he had to stretch his powers out to Reno, Nevada.
“Well then I suppose it might be a good time to learn about that skill of mine, see how far my gravity can go." Isaac stood confidently and Bright pointed in to the northwest, stepping out of the way as he smiled at his shark student. Isaac held his hand forward and fired a pulling blast and he pulled it all.
The large trees standing proud of him bent, their wood strained before the wave ended and they snapped back with a few leaves missing. And like the wind, the gravity pulled at the trees. Going over the forest and pulling at everything, leaves on the ground and plants, scrubs and animals.
Isaac bent down and held his hand out, Bright smiled and gladly allowed the shark to join in on his vision of everything.
…
Iren stood there, green light shining in her fur. And then as Elijah jumped forward with his mouth open, Ignatius smiling he froze. And then the beast as he floated in the air was knocked to the ground. Elijah screamed as his body hit the ground, bones cracking and his entire body being in pain and all. And yet it was over, as his energy lines faded he was dragged through the sand, his entire body being pulled along.
Iren watched and smiled, putting her hand forward and throwing back approaching Riftwalkers. As they walked through the fire she knocked them back into it. Turning her head over, she watched as Ignatius ran from the collapsed beast, running through the shifted sand in the shape of Elijah.
“Fine then Outsiders, you want a fight. Let's go Riftwalkers and show these Outsiders what we are made of!" Ignatius screamed, and out of the fire unaffected five hundred or so warriors approached. Iren lowered her hand as they began to walk towards them.
“Not giving up yet, we can still run the other way!" Tidus screamed out as he threw his hands into the air. Sparks flashed and lit up the battlefield before he threw them down to the ground, the blast of thunder jumped out and flashed around flying forward and striking the ground, the Riftwalkers ignored the electricity as it flowed into their body.
“Fine then I guess we can run now." Basil offered as he turned around, a punch throw into his face. The shark hit the ground grabbing at his face and looking up an armored Riftwalker stood their smiling. Basil opened his wings and climbed back, but the Riftwalker grabbed him and his sword.
“No escape this time Outsiders, you cannot escape from this. I will not allow you to escape this." Ignatius spoke as he walked into the circle of Riftwalkers. Iren looked around in disbelief, they were surrounded and even with disabling Elijah they were still facing a battle unlike anything they had before.
“Outsiders you do understand the concept of fighting people you can match and after all this time, while you might be able to go one on one with a Riftwalker, well let's see what a thousand can do." Ignatius raised his hand into the air and a ball of energy, glowing red, appeared in his hand. Other Riftwalkers raised their hand towards the ball.
“Now then consider this your little parting gift, a personal execution by the head of the Riftwalkers himself. I am cutting off this hydra's head before it can regrow, teach Finn and Isaac a lesson on what happens when they mettle with immortal affairs." Ignatius spoke as he looked down, the ball in his hand taking layers as the three Outsiders stood defeated before him.
“Tidus I am sorry I failed you." Iren stood there as she climbed in front of her son and extended her hands, obviously attempting to shield him from the full force of the blast. Basil was thrown to the ground and the Riftwalker shark looked towards his former leader and spat to him.
“Ha, you call that anything." Ignatius looked at the wetted sand below him and spat back. “You, Basil started so well. You were the first fusion we had ever seen and you were amazing but you turned yourself into a normal solider and then what you betray us, and start to go at it with the Kagen General, shameful shameful stuff." Ignatius looked forward and twisted his foot in the sand.
“Ignatius, my ancestors can look down at me and feel proud, will your parents think the same of you?" Basil asked and the High Brother of the Riftwalkers finally had enough buttons pressed. And with the combined energy of a thousand Riftwalkers he threw it down to the ground.
…
“You let them die." Isaac stood there as he pulled his hand back, Bright looked over confused but with his hand to the ground. “Why did you let them die, how did you let them die, they should have been safe when Elijah was pulled down to the ground."
“I know what happened, I misunderestimated the Riftwalkers. My plan is thrown a bit off, I can't make it look like the nanobots killed Ignatius and I need you do one more thing for me. Take your time to morn, this is the timeline as I experience and this was my second chance, I can't make more mistakes." Bright stood there silent. “Go and morn, I will contact you again."
…
“Finding them was a process, there wasn't much left to find and I didn't have much to morn with. Finn cried for days over Tidus, but this was what had to happen, Bright had a plan. This was a man I trusted now and I had to follow it all, else I might risk more death and I wanted to end this war." Isaac strutted around the room and looked into the wall with anger.
He threw his fist forward and smashed it into the wall, he dropped the glass. Isaac watched as another formed on the table. The shark walked over and looked at the drink he was becoming, sitting down he took another sip and hoped his memories of the situation would be erased.
“And yet on my mind, the death of Billy seemed like an acceptable loss, I didn't know if I could bring him back like I did with Barry and they appearantly had different security." Isaac looked around and took a breath, he glanced at the computer as it idlily recorded. The computer didn't have the program to judge and yet the shark felt like he was being harshly watched, his cover judged, not his insides.
“Iren, Basil and Tidus, where ever you are now in the plains of Heaven or Atherius; might you look down on this man with pity, but I did it all for him, and his plan worked you were a sacrifice to fill the cup and let it flow." Isaac grabbed the glass again and threw more into his stomach, he looked down and saw the reflection of three bodies in his drink.
“And yet here I see Iren, Basil and Tidus, a man I consider my own son dead and wonder if peace would be worth it anymore, I can't consider my options any further and with the flash drive in my pocket I have to ask Finn as question."
…
“Hey how are you doing?" Isaac sat down next to Finn as they sat outside the cafeteria, Finn sat their idly with an occupied look on his face. Isaac without a doubt knew how much the shark was hurting on the inside, trying his best to be strong and not show horror or shame at what happened.
“Good, I've accepted what happened." Finn looked over to Isaac, the shark hugged him and wrapped his arms around Finn. “What how are you feeling, we have to be strong together, we are losing more people but this war will come to an end one day."
“That's what I want to ask you about, if I had a way to end this war, nearly instantly; and with little more death would you allow me to do it. I cannot tell you the plan but one death will result from it and it will not be mine." Isaac looked at Finn, the shark grabbing his hand and holding it still. Isaac counted the pluses he felt in the shark.
As the light of the sun shined through a window and onto the two, Finn looked over to Isaac and then paused. The answer was on his tongue but he wasn't going to say anything.
“You don't have to be stoic, show your emotions and just tell me how you feel about this." Isaac told his shark. “You are strong and can show emotions without being weak."
Finn stood silent for a second and then looked back into Isaac's eyes. A tear ran down his face and the shark put his hands onto his eyes, closing himself off from the whole world. It would take a hand on his shoulder from Isaac to finally get Finn to open himself up.
“Yes, do it, get revenge for them and make me proud. A guilty conscience is a little price to pay for their deaths. " Finn silently spoke and Isaac hugged him, which is why without telling anyone, Isaac set out that afternoon for San Diego.
…
A wind blew through the city of San Diego that night, gossiping swirls and twists flowing like water between the large pillars. And as the sun set on the city, disappearing into the ocean, a full moon rising from the land and taking its place in the night sky; the Outsider stood prepared. Sucking in some air and preparing his lungs, Isaac stood in front of the massive nanobot fortress.
“Joss I'm coming in, whether or not you teleport me to you or not!" Isaac yelled, his voice setting off the security system. Beacons of lights prematurely flying into the sky and bending down at the Outsider. With the spotlights on him, Isaac held his hands out and a white light shined around him.
“Good choice." The Outsider commented as he stood still and the city disappeared in a quick flash of light. Of course, the next thing he knew Isaac was standing in the middle of the fortress, black walls of nanobots pertained to the makeup of the wall. Lights sporadically jutted out, and lit up the wall; a yellow shade being taken to the whole room.
The last time he was in this room, Isaac had sentenced his father to death by nanobot. The Outsider did not intend on seeing if the consequence of his actions were followed out. But more importantly, he put his hands into the pockets of his longcoat, feeling the metallic flash drive scrap on the leather walls.
Isaac whistled as he walked towards the teleportation console; and at the steps just before the large mechanical device Isaac was stopped. The floor bubbled, of course this was the ability of the nanobots; and out of it a dragon arose. Isaac's gamble worked, it was a little gamble but Billy rose out of the ground with his hand forward.
“You've come all the way to San Diego to use the teleportation console, do you need a ride to China or do you want to be transformed?" The transformed mortal spoke, Isaac looked down to the ground. Holding the flash drive in his hand, he pushed forward the port; it wouldn't affect him.
“Can you not speak, maybe so; do you want us to repair that? Or would Joss want to silence a stupid and sometimes insulting voice." Billy spoke with such a manner, Isaac decided in his mind that maybe he would take pity on the shark and strike him down. Let the virus do its job, let the dragon die so he might have some respect and self-worth left.
“Can you not speak, or even look up at me?" Billy asked stepping off the raised platform and putting his hand on Isaac's face. Isaac backed up, keeping his eyes off the dragon and directly at the ground. In his pocket, he flipped around the flash drive once more. “Wait what was that, there was something in your pocket."
Ross opened his hand and a blade jutted out, he stuck the shark's shoulder. Isaac gave him the one free shot, a little payback he deserved. As the blade was dislodged from his bone, Isaac silently observed the bloodletting out of his shoulder, running down his jacket.
“The price of blood I have to pay for peace is worth all the more for this." Isaac finally stated as he pulled his hand out, and against the pain in his shoulder trusted his hand ahead. The flashdrive hit Billy's torso, the nanobots in front of his abs moving out of the way as they formed a port.
“Shit that hurts." Isaac reached his shoulder, the flash drive's internal light was glowing and Billy stood still. And then his body turned to pure black, each nanobot that took apart in his appearance that changed shape and color for him to be who he was just stopped working. A dragon shaped nanobot warrior stood there, devoid of appearance or detail.
And then a rainbow started up his body, each color running up before he screamed and fell to the ground. Isaac looked down as Billy's face returned, and then the fortress around him started to glow. The room started to flash with rainbow colors while bells and wishes went off in the distance.
Isaac backed up, holding his hands to his ears as he waited. A single device in his ear started to buzz, he was getting a transmission in from Basil.
“I'm going to teleport you out, one last thing to do is to directly pit the nanobots against the Kagens and Riftwalkers, a simple teleportation will do the job." Basil spoke and a few white lights appeared around the Outsider. Surrounded with the white light of it all, Isaac stood still.
Joss bubbled out of the ground, his body unaffected by the virus. He turned his head over to Isaac and then the dying body of Billy on the ground. It did not take him long to figure out the connection. Instead of raising a sword in defense or speaking down to the shark, he walked over to the teleportation pad, and typed in some coordinates.
“Look at this rainbow mess you created, shame I wonder what Ross will have to say about it when he teleports into here. I won't hurt him and all the more likely, he and Billy will just fall into the sea when these nanobots are purposed to take part in whatever plan you have." Joss spoke and then his body crumbled into simple nanobot pieces, absorbed into the floor, the entire fortress stopped.
Isaac felt relief as the cluster fuck of his mind stopped and he simply looked around, as a white light appeared in front of him; he disappeared. And unknowing of his fellow Outsider's crimes, Ross teleported in. The dragon tumbled to the ground but it did not take him long to notice the obvious.
A tear flowed down his face as he walked over to the body of Billy, and fell down to the ground. Ross shut down, falling down onto his lover's body and trying to wake him up. After all that had happened, after all he had gone through, he and Billy were separated by an impenetrable barrier known as death.
…
Zonate and Octavius stood in front of their table, a holographic display of Kagen victories and progress was displayed in front of them. And they stood silent interpreting the data and what it had all meant. The moonlight shined through the tanned material of the set-up tent and the grass on the floor always felt good on their feet.
And then out of randomness as if the universe had decided to give them a distraction, a single little cube teleported right above the hologram. It was dense and covered with blue energy lines, tiny little sections divided off but over all a singular piece of metal.
Zonate reached out and grabbed it, the cube hovering above the table. With his hand touching it, the energy lines reverted back into yellow. And then as Zonate opened his mouth green.
“What the hell is…" Zonate was only able to open his mouth for a few seconds, instantly the bomb expanded. A mindless expanding void of nanobots flooded out from the dense cube, instantly culling the cells of the two Kagens and all others in the tent, the molecules torn to their base elements and structured into the nanobot army.
And then like a flood, it all settled out. The single tent was the only affected structure in the Kagen Village but killing two high ranking generals in such a graphic and noticeable way would be something that would affect the whole of the Kagen Army. Twilight stood their confused as a layer of blackness spread out over the forest floor.
“No, Octavius and Zonate." Twilight whispered to himself as he rushed over in the confusion of the mess. As he walked over the nanobots didn't reform into two life forms, they just laid on the forest floor inert and unbending to the will of the Kagen. Twilight threw his hand down and felt it, no energy went through the nanobots, only the feeling of death.
“This is cold murder of a Kagen, the Outsiders couldn't have done this, I doubt they would know how to set one of these off and the Riftwalkers wouldn't do such a violent act. No, not them; men finally it seems that the nanobots have taken an active interest in this war." Twilight looked down at the brutality of the action.
“A Riftwalker would have given a Kagen a chance to regenerate before truly killing them, in such an action like this their bodies were turned into nanobots probably even before they could regenerate. They were coldly wiped out and instantly wiped out, such a horrific act." Twilight looked over and as his men and women noticed, he realized he was in the highest position on this world now.
“Today my warriors it seems a new fighter has entered the mix and effective immediately." Twilight paused and bit down on his lips wondering what such an action could bring for them. All the men he would bring to death and possibly be transformed into warriors of the nanobots. “Men if you are to encounter the nanobots they are to wiped out in such a way equal to this."
Twilight spoke, he effectively just declared war on the nanobots. And as soon as he did that it was like a lightning strike. The nanobots on the ground started to glow purple, little black balls with cores of purple. They glowed with energy and started to flow up into the air, Twilight backed up as he watched his friends fly into the sky disappearing.
…
All across America, out of her sewers and out from above it; nanobots started to glow purple. A massive virus spreading across the land through the nanobots. And at the center of it all was a single man, a man who wanted to change the future.
“Yes finally, my vison will be completed." Bright cried out as Isaac teleported into the campfire. The Kagen's body was glowing purple as he took control of the nanobots. Isaac just stood there and watched the sky, he felt the importance of silence in this situation.
…
Nanobots, billions of millions, upon thousands of those groups flew into the sky, energy flowing between them giving them the ablity to soar into the sky. And never before had the nanobots gone so high and they kept flying and flying and flying. Past the realm of airplanes and even past the stratosphere, protecting themselves as they went above the ionosphere. And then the oxygen of the planet faded and effectively the nanobots were in space.
Communications were shared between them. Their master had but one wish for them, and they all pushed themselves more so above the Earth. They had but one target, the source of pale moonlight in the sky. Nanobots took but five minutes to reach the moon and quickly landed.
On the white rocky surface they landed, covering the craters and the footprints, devouring the left over metal from previous missions. And as the Sun shined on them, unblocked by the Earth, they took that light and started to convert it into energy, absorbing all of the wave lengths and spitting out one single color.
…
Isaac looked up into the sky as the moon disappeared into shadow, he looked over to Bright who finally calmed down as the purple glow faded. With only the light of the campfire, the shark looked forward with a darkness in his eyes.
“What did you do." Isaac pondered as the light returned, a red glow over his hands. The entire world around him covered with a filter of red, the shark stepped forward and he felt nauseous. Looking up into the sky and grabbing onto the base of the tree, the Outsider felt doom as the moon glowed red back onto his body.
And then the moon started to grow bigger, Isaac looked up a star right next to the body disappeared as the moon eclipsed it. And then he realized something, the moon wasn't becoming bigger due to the nanobots adding mass. The moon was getting closer due to the nanobots slowing it down.
“By this night time next week, or morning; it's like three AM, the moon will strike this world. Due to the imbalance of gravity due to the forces of the approaching moon, any portals leaving this world will be interrupted; and all the Kagens and Riftwalkers will die. Consider this my gift to you Outsider, and good luck, both you and I know what has to happen." Bright spoke and then he disappeared, the moon shining white again as the nanobots flew off.
…
Finn stood outside of the base and as a few soldiers gathered outside with him, he looked up to the magnified moon. Holding his hands up and seeing the blood that was stained on his hands. The shark looked around and wondered where his lover was, he needed an embrace.
“I could only wish this was a simple gravity trick by him." Finn stared into the sky at the approaching doom, surely the countdown clock for it all was counting down and he knew that even Isaac couldn't hold off such a massive object. Falling to the ground, the hopelessness of the situation caught up with him.
“Don't worry, I'm sure we will get out of this situation one way or another." Barry hopefully spoke as he placed his hand on Finn's shoulder. But even he saw the death coming to them all, Finn stood up and he hugged the shark. If that was his last hug then the nanobot would be satisfied with his death and joining his brother in the afterlife.
…
“And right now the moon is approaching, but who cares. We can escape this together, surely the Kagens and Riftwalkers are trying to find their own way off this hell world. But I feel assured that they need our help, or the nanobots help in order to get off this world." Isaac looked over to the window, slowly but surely the light of the sun was approaching.
“And this will be something we all talk about, if only I knew how to get off world as well. Portals will not work and the gravity of the moon is preventing anyone from getting off planet until far after this thing hits the Earth and kills us all; so we the Outsiders and mortals; the Kagens, the Riftwalkers and the nanobots are all trapped here on this planet fated for Death." Isaac held up his drink to the light and sipped it down.
He walked over to a couch and placed his drink down on the floor, leaning back and looking up to the ceiling. The shark leaned back and took a breath, he placed his hand on the couch's cushion and exhaled. That was important because this would be the most important day of his life.
“Today is either be killed or find a way out and live with the peace. And I'd hate to play devil's advocate but I don't think Bright is wrong. Because in all that has happened, in all that would… Oh I don't want to beat around this bush, the Kagens and the Riftwalkers will never find peace without either killing all of us or letting natural death find me; or being forced to work together." Isaac laughed as he realized the truth, and looked around at his table. He had to be ready to work at a solution soon, and not appear drunk.
“And after all of that, well I cannot sully my good reputation with Finn. If he had ever found out that I killed Billy, Zonate and Octavius; and possibly endangered the entire Earth for a plan that might fail, he would surely throw me to the streets and desert me. That is if we all live." Isaac spoke as he looked up to the computer and stood up.
“So, this is a huge victory for me, and the good guys, the Outsiders; if we can call us that. This might be the turning point in the battle of these timelines, and this will be the one with the good outcome. All because I sacrificed my mortality."
“I am General Isaac O'Neill, second in command to the Outsiders and a dangerous dragon. And tonight, I have doomed the entire Earth, and possibly saved it; and for this victory, I am an accessory to murder, a murder, a blackmailer and an all-around horrid human being; and these memories will stain my mind forever, end log." Isaac spoke up and the gentle humming of the computer ended. The shark stood there for a second with a drink in his hand and thought about all that had happened.
“And the best part of it all, is that if I had to do it all again and tried to see a different path, well I couldn't." Isaac continued to speak to himself, taking one last drink as he looked over to the approaching moon in the sunlit sky. “But most damning thing of all, I think I can live with it. And if I had to do it all over again, I would. Finn was right about one thing; a guilty conscience is a small price to pay for the victory we will have. So, I will learn to live with it. Because I can live with it."
“Computer, erase that entire personal log."
