In 2012, I asked Syrae-Universe to draw Johara saluting the Naval Services (Honor, Courage, Commitment).
In 2013, I asked AmberCoyote to draw Kyrell saluting my fellow Soldiers in the US Army (This We'll Defend).
I may have served in the U.S. Army, but I have friends that have served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Over the years, I wanted to give them a proper salute.
I asked Spearfrost to draw Lady Watamaraka wearing the USMC octagon hat and a camo USMC t-shirt. Knowing this was to honor the Marines, we kept it Facebook friendly while still making it sexy. (Yes, I posted this on Facebook)
Now while I told her to draw Lady Watamaraka, I always give Spearfrost artistic freedom. So instead of drawing Lady Watamaraka straight up, she decided to draw her human persona, Tamara Blackwood. Yes she dressed her up in the camo hat and t-shirt, along with some black hot pants and tan/beige stilettos. And to remind you all what Tamara is, she drew the devil wings and tail silhouetted behind her.
The devil wings and tail have a double meaning. Not only do they remind you that Tamara is a succubus in human form, but the Marines have often been referred to as "devil dogs".
I absolute love how this turned out. And I hope you Marines like it as well.
For now, enjoy this salute to The Few and The Proud.
