I'm glad I'm not the only author on this site that knows what an orbital ring is and why they're awesome. Yay for orbital mechanics!

I wonder how long it takes for the maglev train to do a complete circuit around the ring... My calculation gives me about 253600 km for a circumference. To make a round trip in 24 hours it would have to go at about 10500 kph! So my guess is that it goes faster than that.
