Char'ena - Wolf Ship of Naoia Anen-su'ena
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
Here's Char'ena, the wolf ship of Naoia Anen-su'ena, from "Daggers of Darkness and also "Tangled Vines".
Char'ena is a "living" ship in the shape of a wolf, and she acts like a (fully sentient) wolf. If you happened to have read in the 2nd "Daggers of Darkness" about Char'ena, she actually started out being a sentient wolf...then the "ship" was built, and she agreed to become a part of it (kind of think along the lines of the first Star Trek movie at the end when Dekker(sp?) merged with V'ger) so that she could be with her First One, who is Naoia--Red Moon's great grandmother.
The bright lines on Char'ena's body causes her to look like a rainbow-hued streak when she "runs". They're sort of like the blue part of a warp nacelle on a Star Trek ship.
If you want a size comparison, an average height human would be about the size of one of Char'ena's claws. She's a big girl...imagine her and her friends having a friendly game of "I've got the stick" among the stars. ;)
I drew the basic sketch using a 0.5 mm mechanical pencil with HB lead, then inked the outlines using a 0.1 mm Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen with black India ink. Next I used colored pencils to apply the colors, and added details using a 1.0 mm brown ink pen, Faber-castell brush pens in shades of gray (mostly using the "warm" grays), and after scanning, I did the rest using Pixlr online image editor and Adobe Photoshop 6.0.
