For the color black, it would be easy to write something about despair, or emptiness, or any of the negative emotions one could normally associate with the darkest of colors. Another side of black is the side of elegance; of simplicity. Basic black works on many levels; but at home, where there is very little light pollution, the night sky itself is black where it isn't filled with stars. Gazing upwards into that space instills a sense of smallness; it certainly allows me to calm my mind. That's why I chose these two things for the color black.
