\n Legalities: The characters are copyrighted to their respected owners, the story is copyrighted to me, and everything from the last chapter still stands. Also an important thing I almost forgot the character Mac belongs to FlameDracovitchWith that surprisingly short shift of legalities out of the way, This story isn't for minors but since you'll look at it anyway, I say good luck and I hope your parents never catch you. With that tidbit out of the way onward to chapter 2 of Asterion Academy.

\n Jake:

\n I woke up in a cold sweat holding one arm over my eyes while the other wrapped around my chest trying ot make sure it didn't break apart. After a few minutes I calmed down and realized I was sitting up in my bed and that it had just been a dream. I shook my head and said softly "One minute I'm climbing into bed the next I get attacked by beasts in my sleep, then I wake up with phantom pains. What next, is a madman going to burst in and start yelling at me?" I blinked as my old man burst in and yelled "GET UP YOU LAZY ASS!!!!!!!!!! WE'RE GOING TO BE LATE, GET UP AND GET DRESSED THEN MEET ME AT THE CAR IN FIVE MINUTES!!!" He ran downstairs and I stared after him then said "Spoke to soon, although I didn't really mean him...." I shook my head and got dressed then slipped my assortment of knives out of my dresser and onto my person. I checked to make sure I had everything other than my bag, then grabbed it, along with my cloak, and headed downstairs at a run. I hopped into the car and buckled in just as my dad hit the accelerator and floored it for the school. I glanced at his face and saw just how stressed he was, so decided not to comment on his crazy driving.

\n I sighed as we started flying down the road and tried to imagine the new school. The only good things I could think of it were no dress code, I didn't have to stay there unless I chose to, and Dasher would be there. I sighed softly and thought "Twenty bucks says that in five days I'm kicked out, by the end of today I'll have argued with at least three teachers, and of course the jocks will come after me." I sighed softly and glanced at my old man who seemed to be spazzing out more normal, even if this was my last possible chance to attend a private school. I sighed again and decided I'd try to stay in the school, just so he wouldn't have to worry so much. I blinked as the car started to slow down then looked out the windows trying to see the school. Finally I looked forward and saw a huge building looming ahead of us and shivered. It was about the twice the size of the biggest cathedral I'd ever seen and noticed that it was a mix of ancient architecture and modern. I shivered and mummbled "Well this is obviously the place. It's the only god damn thing in town that gives me the ceeps." I sighed and reached into the bag seat grabbing my bag and wondering why this place was giving me such wierd vibes.

\n Dad sighed and said "Try not to get in trouble today." I nodded and shifted my shoulders, almost feeling one of my knives prick my skin. We walked forward, Dad studying the campus while I kept my eyes forward, and I caught movement out of the corner of my eye. My training kicked in and I dropped to a crouch my hands coming up in a defensive position as my body shifted to face the person that was charging right at us. I noticed it was Dasher just as I was about to slip my daggers out of my sleeves and stood up in time to get a full blown hug and hear him shout "YES YOU MADE IT!!!!!" I blinked confused and he explained "If you guys hadn't gotten here, within the next five minutes and registered, you wouldn't be allowed to attend the school. Also, I was sort of worried you would go to a different school since you seemed so irritated with this one before even coming to it." I shrugged and slipped out of his arms then kicked open the doors and walked in figuring we should get the registration done as quick as we could. The door had knocked someone back and I saw their papers were scattered everywhere. Dad glanced at me seeming annoyed, and I looked at him as if asking 'What, I didn't know anyone was on the otherside, let alone within distance of getting smacked by the door.' He sighed and walked past to register me while Dasher ran down a different hallway yelling something about track over his shoulder. I blinked and muttered "Only one way to fix this problem, and of course those two left me to do it on my own."

\n I squatted down and started gathering up the person's papers as they slowly tried to orient themselves, while covering their nose with a rag that was starting to turn bloody. After about a minute I had all the papers together and the person's nose had stopped bleeding. I finally looked at them, since up until this point I'd only been glancing at the rag, and started to say "Are you ok?", but what came out was "Are yyyyyy.........." and faded before I could even finish the thought. Staring me in the face was a beautiful fox girl with large glasses and a pair of beautiful purple eyes. I shook my head slowly to orient myself as she said "Sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going and must have run into the door." I shook my head to get myself out of whatever trance her eyes had put me into and handed her the book just as Danna and Amanda walked by, one in a cheerleading uniform the other in a tank top and shorts. I didn't know which was which at the time so I just let them pass without saying anything. I turned back to the fox girl only to see her getting to her feet. I slowly stood up and said "I'm sorry I hit you with the door, I sort of wasn't paying attention to what I was doing and sort of hit you in the face with it." She blinked about to say something and I dropped to one knee bowing my head. She glanced down at me and I said "Please accept my apology, and give me the honor of making up for it by walking you to class."

\n She stared at me surprised and said "You don't even know my name, but you want to walk me to class." I slowly stood up, keeping my eyes focused on the floor, and nodded. She seemed to think for a bit then said "I guess, although it might ruin your reputation." I looked up to meet her eyes then smiled slightly and said "I've probably already got a bad reputation, so nothing to worry about." She smiled at me and I grabbed her books with one arm while motioning her to lead on with the other. She slowly walked past without looking me in the eyes and I smiled to myself letting my wander over the things that had happened so far today. Suddenly she stopped and I handed her her books then asked "Since I sort of feel stupid not to have asked this before, could you please tell me your name?" She smiled slightly then shyly looked down at her books and said softly "I'm Sam. May I ask who you are?" I nodded slightly and said "My Name's Jake, Jake Arrows. My dad and I just moved into town. We may end up seeing each other throughout the school, since I don't have my schedule yet. By the way, do you mind telling me how big the school is." She blinked at me seeming surprised I didn't seem to know just how big the school was. I smiled innocently slightly confused and she laughed a little bit. I smiled even wider and said "You know that you're laugh is very beautiful?" She covered her mouth and shook her head looking back at the ground. I blinked and sighed then said "Could you please answer my earlier question? Because I bet my dad is trying to find, me and I need to get back to him."

\n

\n She nodded and said softly "It's about five miles from front entrance to back, but that's just the main building. All of the grounds together are about ten miles wide and twenty miles long. First years primarily stay in the main building, but if you have any advanced courses you can use the cable cars, to get from area to area. The fields are full of different creatures, including wilds." I looked at her confused by the term 'wilds' and waited for an explanation. She sighed and said "I thought everyone who came to the school knew this, wilds are animals that aren't anthros, pokemon who have partners, or digimon who come to the school to learn. It's so that everyone can learn to interact. The teachers are from all the different races, and each specialize in their own thing. Since today is your first day, you'll probably be tested to see what special talents you have." I raised an eyebrow confused and she said "No one without some sort of ability can enter the school." She suddenly stopped as a white tiger anthro walked by with a small flame dancing over one finger. I gently nudged her and asked "Who was he?" She smiled slightly and said "That's Mac, or Flame. He's one of the few guys in the school who doesn't have any enemies." I nodded slowly and she pulled her mind off of Mac and said "As I was saying before he walked by, no one can enter the shcool without some sort of ability. Even if it's natural to your race, like a pokemon or digimon's abilities. A lot of people take it for granted, but the teachers constantly remind us that most people outside can't do the things we do. So we need to be careful."

\n

\n I blinked wondering about my abilties then blinked and asked "What's the full title of this school?" Sam blinked and said "Asterion Academy, Institute for the Specially Gifted." I sighed softly and thought "Of course. Dad couldn't send me to a normal school, but if everyone here has special abilities how did he get accross the threshold?" I shook my head and asked her "Anything else I should know?" She nodded and said "Yeah, until you know your abilities avoid the upper classmen. Most of them are looking for fights, despite it being against the rules. By the way what classes do you plan on majoring in?" I shrugged and said "I'll see what the school has to show me, and how things progress as the day goes on." She nodded and walked into the class as I turned away and retraced our steps back to the main entrance. When I got there I saw my dad standing with a piece of paper and an annoyed look on his face. I sighed and walked over then tapped him on the shoulder. He rounded on me obviously about to go on one of his tirades and I said "Sorry Dad, just had to help a girl get her stuff together and get to class.I knocked her down and felt it was the only way I could make up for what happened."

\n

\n He slowly calmed down as I went on then chuckled when I stopped and said softly "You're as bad as I was on my first day in Highschool." I didn't feel like pointing out that this particular highschol's freshman class were equal to me, which meant most were at least juniors as far as regular highschool's went." He handed me the slip of paper he'd been holding and said "Call me at the end of the day, and if you're staying here, I'll just leave your room as it is. However tomorrow I'll bring anything you ask for. Ok?" I nodded and he walked off as I ripped open the envelope and started walking toward the main office. I suddenly heard a voice say "Whatcha looking for?" I turned around quickly to see a short bunny studying me and said "I'm looking for the main office, could you lead me to it?" They nodded, I couldn't tell if it was a he or a she, and we started walking down the path I'd been going however they took a left turn when I'd had the idea I'd needed to go straight. I shook my head muttering "Guess it goes to shw that even my sense of direction isn't infalliable." After a few minutes I studied my guide and noticed that they couldn't be an anthro, so they had to be a digimon or a pokemon. It started with the fact that one ear was curled while the other sturck straight up, then I noticed that their fur color changed a bit more than a normal anthro, and finally I saw that they didn't have the digigrade paws common to anthros. I laughed softly to myself and they looked back at me questioningly.

\n

\n I smiled slightly and said "Do you mind telling me what kind of creature you are? I know you aren't an anthro, but I don't really know anything more than that." They nodded slowly and said "I'm a buneary, and in case you're wondering, yes I am a guy." I nodded slowly and we walked on in silence both wrapped up in our own thoughts. I pulled myself out of my thoughts first and asked "So how far is it to the main office." He glanced at me and said "Don't you have a scanner to tell you all of that?" I shook my head and he said "New student?" I nodded and he sighed then said "You should take out your invitation, it will lead you wherever you need to go until you get your scanner." I dug in my pocket remembering hte envelope my dad had handed me and pulled it out then opened it and saw a slick platinum card. I picked it up slowly and a blue beam shot out scanning me from head to toe.

\n

\n It beeped a few times then an electronic voice said "Recognized recipient Jake Arrows. First and only son of esteemed Jason Arrows top baseball player in the league until retiring this year. Father asked for enrollment of son several months ago and sent DNA samples ahead. Need blood to verify, verify now?" I sighed softly and said "I so hate how hi tech everything's getting now, but go ahead and verify." Suddenly something stabbed into my hand and I nearly lost the card. It made several whirring noises then clicked a few times and said "DNA Verified. Where do you need to go Mr. Arrows?" The voice had changed from metallic to human in a matter of seconds so I just stood there somewhat stunned. The buneary just laughed and said "I love when new students end up having that happen. Sorry if it seems rude, but with how tough this school is you have to get your laughs in when you can. By the way I'm Ryan Frost." I held out my hand and we shook then Ryan led me the rest of the way to the office while I slipped my invitation into my wallet vowing not to let anything else in this school surprise me, or scare me, that badly again. We walked on and Ryan said "I guess I should explain some stuff. When we get to the office turn in your Invitation and they'll assign you to your first teacher who'll find out all of your abilities. From there the two of you will go back to the office, where you'll pick up your scanner and they'll turn in your information."

\n

\n He stopped and glanced at me then said "This is my second year here, but I still feel like a freshman every time I see some of the stuff that changes." I nodded in understanding and he turned around then held his hand out again and said "You may not be very talkative, but I think I'm starting to like you Jake. As a friend at least, so how long have you been planning on coming to the academy?" I smiled slightly and shook his head then rubbed the back of my neck and said "I didn't know anything about this place until my dad decided to tell me we were moving and that I was already registered for my new school. He just handed me the registration form, filled out except for my signature of course, and walked out a little while ago." Ryan seemed to find this funny and chuckled softly then stretched out and started walking again. I followed along in his footsteps my mind moving over everything everyone had told me. After a bit I saw Dasher run past and he waved at us. Ryan glanced back and forth between us then said "If you're new, how do you know Dasher?" I shrugged and he let the matter rest as the two of us got closer to the office and I noticed a directory board. I silently commited it to memory as we walked by then accidentally ran into Ryan who I hadn't realized had stopped.

\n

\n I followed his eyes and saw a large door marked office. I smiled at him in appreciation then headed inside wondering what sort of trouble I could possibly cause. Behind the desk was a tall human woman wearing a pair of strange glasses and seeming to type on nothing, yet I could hear the click of her fingers hitting a keyboard. I started to ask her about the principal and she said "Sit down by the door Mr. Arrows, Proffessor Asterion will be right with you." I sat down slowly where she pointed still trying to figure out why I heard a keyboard clicking when I couldn't see one. After a bout five minutes I noticed the lights flashing at the secretary's fingers and realized she was using one of the newer virtual consoles. I'd heard about them, however most people were to broke to afford them, and those that had them couldn't do very much or so the reviews said. I shook my head sighing and thought "That damn reviewer must have been an idiot, the girl's hand's fly faster across that  computer than my own could ever do on a keyboard and a it's a nerve uplink so she gets the info twice as fast." After about ten minutes a tall Wolf Anthro walked out of a door I hadn't noticed before followed by a short turtle who seemed to be writing down everything he said. He stopped infront of me and studied me then said "Well Mr. Arrows, I guess it's time for your test." I smiled darkly and he said "Now Now, Is that anyway to treat the head of your new school when you just met him?" I smirked slightly letting my hair drop down to cover my face and said softly "Only if he has more money than brains." Proffessor Asterion burst out laughing while his assitant gave me a look that I believed should have taken a few patches of skin off.

\n

\n I shook my hair out of my eyes and looked up to see Proffessor Asterion studying me. He smiled slightly and said "You are as much of a fighter as your father warned. Well then, if you have your invitation why don't we head out to the training grounds where your first teacher is waiting. Wait, before I forget what courses would you like to major in?" I shrugged and said "I'll take anything you're willing to throw at me, just give me a self defense class." He laughed again and said "Everyone who comes here is required to take multiple self defense classes, but I guess we'll wait until the instructor and you have your little match before I assign your classes." I nodded and hopped up then followed him out of the room while his assistant sat down and spoke with the secretary. Proffessor Asterion led me through the school and I took in every detail. I silently started laying a three dimmensional map over hte directory I'd memorized and blinked when I realized we were heading to what the directory called "The Dieing Grounds." I silently shook my head figuring that it was just the creator's funny way of showing that it was a training area. I popped my neck and loosened my muscles as we walked wondering what would come next. Proffesor Asterion kept looking back at me with a slight smile as if he knew what I was doing then took a turn that was different from the one I remembered on the directory, but I didn't make a comment waiting to see what happened. He smiled and said "Where do you think we're going right now?" I shrugged and said "Probably the training grounds, unless of course we took a wrong turn and are headed to the science lab." He smirked and said softly "Or a short cut since the one who'll be testing you has very little patience." I nodded remembering a slight split on the directory and followed him without complaint.

\n

\n Suddenly we ended up out of the building in the middle of what appeared to be a huge desert and I had to wonder what got us there so fast. A single figure stood a few yards away watching us with a small frown on their face. Proffessor Asterion led me over and said "Kir, here's the student I told you about. I felt I'd best watch to make sure you didn't beat him to badly that the nurse couldn't possibly patch him up again." Kir slowly nodded and started to take off their extra equipment. I smiled slightly and tossed my bow on the ground then tossed my shirt over it. Proffessor Asterion raised an eyebrow questioningly at me while Kir said softly "You may want all of you knives with you, they might be the only way you stand a chance." I growled softly and tossed my quiver down. I slowly stretched then jumped back into a fighting stance as Kir slowly stripped off the rest of her body armor. I blinked and she said "My name is Kiriana however the professor calls me Kir because he taught me from a young age." I silently wondered how old the headmaster was when suddenly I caught a blur out of the corner of my eye and raised my arm up. It barely deflected the blow she'd thrown at me and slightly deadened the nerves up and down my arm. I jumped back then kicked out as she raced after me causing my foot to connect with her stomach. She smirked and slid back to or three feet then asked "That all you have, boy?" I growled softly, but held my ground not falling for the old 'Piss them off and you can easily beat them' ploy. I'd always consdiered my anger a tool, however I wasn't going to let it rule me. I was going to control it and keep as cool a head as I could.

\n

\n These were the thoughts coursing through my head seconds before she rushed at me and I slammed my fist into her shoulder. I heard bones crack and inwardly winced as pain spread down from my knuckles and she jumped back holding her shoulder. She smiled slightly and said "I think you actually damaged my shoulder socket. Nice job, but it cost you your knuckles. Learn anything." I smiled slightly and reached int my pants then slammed my foot into her as she rushed me feeling her fist slam into my shoulder at the same time knocking us both back. I held onto the bandage I'd just pulled out and slowly wrapped it around my injured hand. She looked at me surprised and said "Doesn't your shoulder hurt?" I nodded slowly then glanced over to see a thin trickle of blood flowing from it and said "Don't worry though, it won't stop me from fighting my hardest." I silently berated myself for a fool as my mind took everything into calculation and I thought "Right fist, Left Shoulder. I'm at a disadvantage since my last blow only knicked her side enough to stop her fist from plowing through me. However her left shoulder is in as bad of shape as my right hand so that much is in my favor."

\n

\n I blinked as I saw a strange aura appear around her that went to the right as she set her stance then swiftly went left and seemed to rush at me. I blinked and the aura was gone, but I smiled realizing it may have just helped me get an advantage. She glared at me and did just as the image had however, I rushed at her as she got midway to the left and slammed my shoulder into her stomach. Sadly it wasn't as easy on me as I'd thought it would be, instead it was like slamming into a brick wall. She let out a yell of pain and I jumped back holding it and silently cursing myself for letting my left arm lead. I coughed slilghtly as I stood up and saw her chanting softly as she laid there. I blinked and something in me said strike. I followed it and kicked her in the chest stopping her chhant midway and preventing it from working. I jumped back and said "Magic is such a cheap shot, especially since I can't do any myself." She laughed and said "Evereyone here can do magic, you just haven't been taught how yet." I silently cursed about that wondering how you were supposed to defeat people who could heal after every injury then I remembered that it seemed as if my slamming into her had broken her concentration. I rushed back in as she got to her feet attacking her recklessly so she didn't have enough time to attack, or cast a spell.

\n

\n She started laughing and said "Good you used your brains and realized that if I can't concentrate I can't cast. However your at a disadvantage because of the rapid rate your losing energy, and the fact that I'm prepared for the enviorment while you're not." She slammed me in the face knocking me backward a  fool ten feet and I landed next to my shirt. I wrapped it around my head quickly and threw a few of my knives at Kiriana as she stood up. She dodged them nimbly then rushed at me probably preparing to finish this quickly. I smiled slightly to myself and pulled back my right hand figuring that it wouldn't be able to hurt much worse. She kept coming at a rapid rate and when she was about to hit me I slammed my fist forward knocking her back a good couple of feet. I was wrong about their being no pain, very wrong. The shockwaves it sent spiraling up my arm as the breaks became worse nearly knocked me out. I ended up falling on my back then screamed as my arm hit the sand. I knew it was broken all the way through and slowly got to my feet. Lady Kiriana stood up as well and said "Now you're done." I smiled thinking "Yeah, but so far I've given as good as I got. I don't doubt that it was stupid to go against the laws of physics, but that mark on your face is enough of a prize for now." I glanced down at my wrist to see blood slowly dripping from the bone shards that had broken out through the skin and winced.

\n

\n I forced myself to ignore the pain and slowly started forward to see her pull a knife out with a flourish and send it flying toward my left arm. I reacted instinctively by ducking and pulling a knife out of my boot, then deflecting her blade and throwing my own at her. It was enough of a distraction to allow me to get close and kick her in the side sending her into the sand. I fell to my knees weakly feeling myself start to pass out from pain and blood loss as she climbed to her feet. I slowly looked up at her face to see a slight smile, followed by a malacious grin and she pulled her leg back and slammed her foot full force into my face. The last thing I remember was feeling my nose snap, and hearing a crunching sound as I faded into Oblivion.

\n

\n Kiriana:

\n

\n I studied the boy silently rubbing my foot as the headmaster came over. He looked at me questioningly and I said "I couldn't very well leave him awake, and that was because of what he did to my face." The headmaster nodded and said one word making my injuries vanish. I shivered wondering how he was so strong in magic then we both looked at the boy. I sighed softly and said "Do you really think he's the one the oracles said would help unite the worlds?" The headmaster smiled slightly then straightened the boy's nose and healed it. He seemed to be ignoring my question, however, from past experiences I knew he was actually going over it very carefully. Finally he nodded and said "You didn't see what I saw. He predicted your move, which is how he ended up injuring his shoulder. IF he could harness that ability it would make him the deadliest fighter of them all. I don't know how he did it, but what I do know is that he has a gift stronger than any I've ever seen before. His father also has a gift, but I wonder about his mother. The father seemed reluctant to talk about her, so I didn't push the matter, but he did say she wasn't human." I nodded and slowly took off my head covering then shook my thick auburn hair out of my eyes as it fell and asked "How many years do we have to train him, and how will he find the army he must lead?" The headmaster smiled slightly and said "Six years to train him, and hope he finds what he needs."

\n

\n I blinked and started to ask him another question, but he held up his hand and continued "However until the time is up I believe we should allow him to live as normally as possible. Pushing him hard is good, but we want a leader not a weapon that will turn on us when everything comes." I nodded slowly thinking about things as the headmaster saw them. If we pushed him to hard the boy would grow to resent everyone, however if we pushed to little he wouldn't be ready in time. It would be a fine line between the two that we had to walk him a long and one misstep would be the end of everything that the academy stood for, for the last thousand years. I shivered slightly remembering the one time the academy had nearly fallen and the chaos that had ensued. WIthout the academy magic was uncontrolled, and without magic the world couldn't truly repair itself from the damage done by those living on it. The headmaster seemed to sense my thoughts and said "It's a fine line between control and complete control. If we regulate magic to much it could destroy everything with a backlash, to little and it runs wild. Either way Magic and Science would be unable to interact except as enemies."

\n

\n I nodded and said softly "Head Master, How strong do you think the boy is?" He shrugged, not carelesly mind you, only as if unsure, and seemed to try and wave a way a stray thought that crossed his mind. He slowly bent down and gently picked up the boy. The sound his bones made as he moved belied his young appearance. He glanced at me as I picked up the boy's equipment and said " I'll personally make his scanner however, you will deliver it to him, and say you made it. Understand?" I nodded and the two of us went back to the office. Him to take care of the boy, and me to get healed so I could teach my next class. We walked through the gate and appeared in the office hallway. I shivered slightly finding such a thing dangerous, a wrong thought and you could end up at the bottom of the ocean or inside a door. We walked into the office and I laid down on the nurse's bench while the headmaster carried the boy to the infirmary. After about ten minutes Leone, the headmaster's secretary, walked over and said "Hey Snow Tiger, get your ass beat in the dessert?" I shook my head and replayed the fight to him then winced as he slowly healed me. He sighed and said "So that means we have to watch out for him." I nodded slowly and said softly "However they'll be watching too. I have a feeling they've already infiltrated the school since we had to hire new faculty this year." Leone nodded and helped me to my feet then escorted me to my classroom. I slowly sorted through everything and thanked him for the help then sat down.

\n

\n I sighed softly and thought "I hope the boy knows what he's doing walking into this den of shadows. If not then, I hope someone can pull us all ouf of the mess he makes." I shook my head slowly deciding I was being to over dramatic and that I needed some rest. The headmaster and Leone's healing had drained almost as much strength as fighting the boy. I smiled slightly to myself and said softly "Be prepared for a dangerous life Jake Arrows. Your father didn't realize what he was doing by signing you up for our school, but it's to late now." I sighed and closed my eyes as my body relaxed enough for me to get a nice nap.

\n

\n Jake:

\n

\n I jerked awake in a cold sweat after having dreams of being chased by things that seemed to shimmer in the darkness. I tried to lift my arm to whipe the sweat out of my eyes and saw that it was coated in bandages. Then the fight suddenly flooded back into me and I mummbled "Damn, I hope I didn't get my ass to badly beat. Wait though there should be a lot more pain than this, and my nose doesn't seem to be broken anymore." Suddenly a nurse walked in and said "Hello my dear. I'm Nurse Aliana Nirosan. I'm a pokemorph incase your wondering. My talents are primarily in healing so Lord Asterion asked me to become the school's nurse." I stared at her slightly awed by the fact she reminded me of an anthro, yet also of a pokemon and a human. As I started to ask her what kind of pokemorph she was Dasher, Sam, Ryan, Danna, Amanda, and some tall guy I didn't recognize burst in. Dasher took one look at me and said "Holy Crap! How'd you manage to get off so light after facing Lady Kiriana?" I started to ask who then the fight flashed through my mind again and I said "I gave as good as I got, but I ended up nearly killing myself by not taking into account everything." Danna sighed and said "You shouldn't have picked her to fight. She's one of the strongest teachers in the school and the headmaster personally trained her."

\n

\n Amanda smiled slightly her bubbly personality showing through and said "Yeah, but that fist print on her cheek had to mean that you hit her preety hard. Was she mad about it?" I nodded and muttered "Yeah she broke my nose because of it." Ryan grimaced and said "Not wise to hit someone wearing a helmet with your bare hand." I nodded and glanced at my arm which seemed to be healed, but felt weaker than that of a three year old with pneumonia. Ryan followed my eyes and said "Yeah water magic does that at times. Same for earth and light, well any of the healing magic's really. They need to use your energy as well as the caster and with how bad your arm was we're all surprised your awake." I blinked and said "Two questions. 1. How long was I out? 2. Who's the big tall guy with a fuzzy outline?" Dasher followed my eyes and said "Oh that's Thom. He's an agumon, however he's currently digiviolved to one of his top forms. As for your first question, well you missed to periods so about three hours." I growled softly and kicked off my sheets then hauled myself to my feet and nearly passed out. Sadly at this exact moment Robert walked int covering his nose. He took one look at me and I saw rage fill his eyes. However after seeing the others he almost instantly calmed down. When he was angry I'd have sworn I'd seen one of those strange auras around him, however I decided not to mention it to the others yet.

\n

\n He walked over as a beautiful beagle in a cheerleading outfit walked in. She walked up and put her arms around Robert as he started speaking to Amanda and Danna. They glanced at me and I nodded to the healer. They nodded in understanding and dragged Robert over then led him outside when his nose was fixed. I looked at Thom and said calmley "Hello thom, I'm Jake." He seemed to smile at me and said "Nice to meet you. Don't let the big tough guy look bother you, in honestly I'm actually more of a computer guy than anything else. Dasher's the real fighter." Dasher's face turned crimson under his fur and he said "I just help those that need it. Not like Jake he took on Lady Kiriana and gave her a preety good lesson. That says to me that he knows how to fight. After all they said that the fight lasted all of first period, and it's fourth now. So the times line up exactly." Thom nodded then was suddenly surrounded by a bright cocoon and changed into a small black lizard with red eyes. He smiled at me and said "The other's forgot to mention I'm a black agumon, not a normal one." I smiled and said "Still glad to meet you. If you ever need any help let me know." He nodded and dragged Dasher away saying something about a promise. That left me and Ryan.

\n He glanced around then asked "Were you assigned to her, or did you pick her?" I yawned and said "I was assigned, but I think I'd have picked her if I knew her reputation and had a choice." He smiled slightly and I said "Would you mind explaining the rumors about her." Ryan nodded his eyes getting really bright and started explaining everything. It took about an hour and when he was done Lady Kiriana walked in holding a strange device. She looked at me and said "This is your scanner. It holds pokeballs, digimon cards, a map of everything around the school, your schedule, and it can be constantly updated with new features. It also has a digimon catalauger and a pokedex." She pulled out a disk and pushed it into the scanner then handed it to me. I strapped it onto my right wrist and felt a burning as it melded with my arm. She smiled slightly and said "It's now yours and yours a lone, however one extra feature that I included was in can catalogue everyone you meet, and is able to upload things from other scanners." I blinked surprised and watched her leave, still trying to think of what to say for a thanks. Ryan studied my scanner and said "Man, you must have really impressed her. This is the senior's model, but I guess that means you'll have a bunch of tough classes to. Well sucks to be you dude."

\n I laughed and said "Thanks for the support Ryan, but I'm not worried. By the way do you have a cellphone?" He pulled one out and handed it to me. I called my dad and left a message telling him I was staying at the school in the dorms and that I'd get my stuff tomorrow then handed it back to him. He made it vanish, where to I have no idea since he had no pockets, then got up and said "Well I'll see you later Jake. I've got a few plans all my own to deal with. " I nodded and watched him go then laid back. I sighed softly and mummbled "Well I didn't get expelled, and I did make some friends, but I also got my ass kicked. I guess that just means I'll have to train harder and do whatever it takes to get stronger. I wonder how everyone else is doing." As I finished this last sentence I slipped into a light sleep where I had strange dreams.

\n

\n The dreams started with Damien and Riko were playing dice with two figures completely shrouded in shadow, and it seemed that the stakes in the game were abnormaly high. Then they moved over to Lex leaning on a tree talking to someone who wore a hood, however he emmanated nothing but purity and I wanted to weep with joy. Finally then ended with Lena standing infront of a crossroads. I knew that if she went down one it would mean trouble for everyone, and the othe would cause her nothing but happiness however I couldn't tell which was which. From there I slipped into a deep dreamless sleep as my body recovered from both the healing and the fight.

\n Well Ladies and Gentleman this chapter's done. Please comment, fave, vote, whatever just let me know if you like the story. I really need some feedback and anyone who may seem interested in my maze of a story just has to pm me with their character info and I'll put them in. Now it's question time. What do the teachers know that the students don't? What could possibly have happened in the past? Who are these others Kiriana spoke of? Why is the Headmaster worried when he's so powerful? What Does Flame have to do with the story? What is the strange aura that surrounds Robert? All these questions and more will be answered in the future chapters of Asterion Academy.
