Very nice piece :) Did you get the markings from someplace in particular, or made them up yourself?

The armband is a navajo design I think, but I don't know if it means anything in particular. The circle on the stomach symbolizes the sun and/or the 4 cardinal directions. Obviously the print on his chest is a bear print, and the stuff on his face I made up based on some pics I found of tribal war paint.

The symbol on his belly is called the Zia symbol and if you look you'll actually see it's on the New Mexican flag in red and yellow.
