HaD: Horses and Dragons
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
Reptile – The Score
Volume VIII: “Heroes And Darkness”
Composed by Patrick Reichel
Track 10: “Horses and Dragons”
Who said dragons would make bad mounts?
This was quite a project… but I’m really satisfied with the result. It’s my 10th track from the current album… so it had to be something special and exclusive. ^^
I imagined the following scenes, because this track is highly “situative”:
At first, the army of AKTES and King Kyle are gathering… mounting their horses and then riding heroically over the lands. That would be the first part of three.
In the second part (everything is edited in this track) the army would discover a forgotten cave… inhabited by dragons! The cave needed some “ambient” music, this is the second part.
In the third and last part, the heroes discover that the dragons can be mounted, too… and so they are flying away over the fields of glory! ^^
I wanted to practice four new aspects in this song:
+ Different rhythms and change in styles
+ Tempo and volume variations
+ Real sounds (such as my “hissing” and breathing) combined with the symphonic sounds
+ less choir (doesn’t sound so well)
Enjoy!!!
Media Used:
ALESIS USB-Keyboard, YAMAHA PSR-1000-Keyboard, ABLETON LIVE 8.2, MIROSLAV Philharmonik, Microphone, ALESIS Equalizer and mixing console
Working Time:
about 12 hours
DEDICATED to the composer Alan Silvestri
Composed and performed by Patrick Reichel aka
NOTES:
I suggest you download the track and enjoy the Mp3 from your computer. This usually sounds better than just listening it here directly... and you can keep it for later. ^^
*This song contains small cues from computer games and movie soundtracks. The second “riding rhythm” (starting at 3:00) was adapted from “The Mummy Returns” by Alan Silvestri (Track: “Sandcastles”) – one of my favourite composers.
EDIT:
I've deleted a few voices from the choir in the final section.

Like I said, I wanted to create three parts with different narrative styles... I hope it worked out.
AND I shall try to experiment with my own voice a little more often... maybe I'll sing some parts myself in time... XD
Thanks for the comment! :3
