Steven Universe The Movie is a 90mins long episode, very sweet and well-trimmed, but purposefully inside the comfort zone of the show so far.
(And also foreshadowed the fact that the writers didn't know what else to do with these characters in Steven Universe Future, especially with those ridiculous time and money constrains. Sorry, I didn't like the sequel series.)
But the real novelty was him, Steg, the fusion between Steven and his father. Nobody expected something so provocative, and, let's admit, sexy in a masculine way, from the show. I'm wondering about the kids that are receiving their sexual imprinting from this jacked-up Space Dandy!
