The light will come after the darkest of times. And sometimes we have to be the light for others and I will see to it that everyone can continue.

In the fading light we welcome the darkness that comes, in order to see the light of others across the endless void. Until the light is needed once more. Sadly I might not remember that.

Ban POV

Harry is just sitting on his bed while I sit on Rum’s.

“See Harry, I am one would say have travelled a lot. And in my travels I have met a boy who told me what I need to know in the hall of memories.”

His eyes widen when he heard about that place.

“Here is my story.”

FLASHBACK

A boy who is in his teens is wandering around a city. And beside him is another boy with red hair. They are wandering around a city called “Selrai” where they are victims of missing people.

These people are in modern clothing. So out of place for this kind of city, the black haired boy wears a white shirt with blue streaks at the sides, a pair of shorts that are cobalt blue walks along with a pair of blue and white rubber shoes.

The other, a red haired human who wears a pair of glasses has a jacket with black and red stripes has long cargo pants and a pair of black rubber shoes looks around

Then the boy asked around for intel about the disappearances. After a while they found an inn that has an Ursan with a fiddle playing as a hare that is sitting by a stall which serves as the check in booth smiles at his companion playing.

“Excuse me?” the boy with messy black hair asked the hare who just smiles.

“Oh, Welcome to Day Break Inn. How can I help you?” then the boy asks if he knows about the recent missing cases.

“Ai. These cases are occurring more often now.” Then the fiddler ends his song. Walks over to the group. “Oh who are these people?” then the human with the red hair spoke up.

“We are here to ask about these disappearances. I believe we can…” then a scream is heard.

“EEEK!” then the two humans, bear and hare rushed outside to see a huge shadow like creature carrying a parrot like creature. “Let him go!” then the human who yelled at the creature summoned a white blade.

“Hmph. Have it your way.” Then the red haired human as well summoned a pair of pistols that are contrasting each other aimed at the creature. One of which is white and yellow and the other is black with streaks of red.

Then the creature engaged with the humans.

The knight thrashes his blade around as he dashes across the street. While the gunner is stepping from one spot to the next. Aiming precisely at the creature, a shot then another then another.

The creature finally had enough and charged at the gunner who stepped aside but it was not aiming for the human but the parrot child he was abducting earlier.

“Save me!” then an ursan quickly punched the creature with his gauntlets. Then the hare shot bolts of light at the shadow and it quickly fled.

“Thank you.” The child told his heroes.

“No problem” then the black haired human gave a thumbs-up and a smile.

Then the two beasts approached the humans who seem to have “Dream Weapons”. “Those weapons are exquisite. You wield those too huh.” The bear asks the humans who gave a nod.

“We are here to help. Can you help us kill this monster?” the bear extended his hand to the black haired human who takes his hand gladly. And then they hunted the creature down to a cave where there are two sides. And the cave is enchanted, only two can enter for each entrance.

“We’ll take the right.” The bear told the hare.

“Ok, good luck.” Then the party went inside the cave.

The cave is filled with nightmares. And as the party continues to fight, they reached the deepest part of the cave and vanquished the creature.

Then the boy came to the bear and hare. He asked what was their dream.

“I always wanted to have someone to take care of.” The bear replied and the boy smiles.

“How about you?” the red haired boy asked the hare.

“The same thing as he has.” Then the boys took a deep breath.

“We are orphans, and we always wanted parents.” Then the black haired boy held the hand of both the lepian and the ursan.

“Can you be our fathers?” then the two are crying tears of joy as they pulled the two human boys to a group hug. “Yes! Yes we will!” then the newly formed family came to their new home.

“Hey, let’s help these two.” The black haired boy told the other human. “Yup! Let’s!” The two knew of the inn keeper’s feelings for each other. If the way they hug and see each other was not an obvious secret in the air then you don’t know what is.

Then night came. The village was celebrating and the guest of honor was the group of the humans who slayed the creature. After a while, the two humans set their plan to action.

“Umm. Dad?” the black haired human told the bear that his friend needs to talk to him.

“Where?” “At the Rainbow Blossom tree.” Then the bear thanks the human and runs off to the tree where a hare was waiting for him. They are asking why do they need to speak and suddenly the bear tripped and he landed on the hare, face to face.

“I am so…” the words come short as time slowed down. And the bear can only see the hare in front of him and he just leans in and placed his lips on the hare and the hare simply returns the favor.

As time continues the tree’s petals fell down, making the scene more romantic. The two just continued to kiss for a while until the separated. The bear who was cupping the hare’s cheeks all this time said the three words.

“I love you.” Then the hare smile and kissed the bear once more then said “I love you too.”

Little did they know that on top of a roof nearby was their two sons. Smiling and enjoying their fathers finally being honest with each other.

“And that’s that. I am looking forward to be with this family.” The boy said to the other.

“Me too.”

After the humans finally have to leave, the two took in another orphan a few years later. He was a pup who was left on a doorstep.

They taught the pup how to play the fiddle and how to cook and be proper. But most of all, they taught the boy how to love and protect. Then the pup became a boy and eventually a man. Their son decided to help and became an adventurer.

But the day that he takes over the inn did not happen.

“Dads! I’m…” the wolf who had a basket of fruits dropped his luggage as he saw claw marks and a dark hole.

“Surprised to see me?” the wolf-man turned around to see a human dressed in black clothing approached the wolf man. “Who are you!?” then the wolf started to yell as he held his head.

“AHHH!” the wolf is in pain. On the ground and holding his head.

“You don’t seem to remember. Alas. But no need to worry.” Then the wolf-man saw the figure go towards the dark hole. “If you want these beasts back. Then come after me.” The human then went inside the void and vanished.

And the wolf blacked out. After he regained his consciousness he searched the land for an answer. Until he came to that place, it is called the “Hall of Memories” and that moment. The wolf met a boy. The boy’s hair is black and his eyes are filled with hope.

Then the boy answered who the one who intruded his home was. The boy said he is Ovire. A mage that wants to control all the worlds. Then after that he told a story about how he met his fathers and how he and his friends defeated a mage. Then the wolf smiled.

One friend is a wolf that is conceived by him accepting the other side of his conscience which contained fear, distrust and sadness. The boy explained that the mage severed his conscience into two, one light which he always possessed and his dark one which took form of a wolf.

The wolf in reality never experienced any expression of love, until the boy befriended it and the wolf in turn became to what is to be the second half and blade that he wields.

The boy told the wolf to find his other friend. His name is Reandilo the Gun Master.

He continued his search until he found the person with all the answers. The person told the beast that he has never changed a bit.

The wolf, never knew this man asked why he said that.

Then Reandilo told the wolf to take his orb. And told the wolf that he will know in time.

After that the orb started to glow as he woke up in a foreign land. And the wolf saw a golden mane lion who helped him on his quest to find Ovire.

The lion looked exactly like the wolf’s friend. And that alone made the wolf trust in the lion. Then the wolf set off to find the human who took his parents away.

END OF FLASHBACK

“That’s how you got here huh?” Harry seems to understand what was going on. Then he just sighs.

“That is why you should continue.” Then the hare told me he can’t. I lost my patience and smacked him across the face. “Listen to yourself! This is not you!” then Harry stood up and yelled at me.

“You do not know me!”

“Dad! If you are not going to save Dad Rum then who will!? Who will love him!? Who will be with him when he needs someone!? And most of all, Who would even give him the family that he deserves!?”

“You have taught me that if you love someone, you will be with them. Where is that Harry I know!?” then I realized something I shouldn’t have done. I revealed my secret to my father.

“Me and Rum are the hare and bear in your story…” my adoptive father who is a strong willed person just became this heap of misery and I can’t take it anymore.

Then I cried on his shoulder and he hugged me as we continue to cry.

“I am sorry, Ban. I am not the hare you think I am.” Then I just looked at him.

“Then this is it? You are not going to fight for your love?” I asked the hare who just looks away from me. “Do you think that he does not love you? Dad?” I am now just in a state of anger, sadness and despair.

“He loves you so much that he is scared to tell his feelings for you. Then on the other hand you love him as well but you don’t want to even have the guts to just go out there and find him!”

“You may have failed but can you at least try again!? So what if you did not get him at the first try? He has faith in you! Don’t be stupid! Dad! ANSWER ME!?”

Then my lepian father just snapped.

“YES I AM SCARED! SCARED TO NEVER SEE HIM AGAIN! NEVER TO HUG HIM, NEVER TO HOLD HIM AND TEASE HIM ABOUT HIS BELLY AND NEVER WILL I GET THE CHANCE TO TELL HIM I LOVE HIM! I ADMIT IT! I AM SORRY BAN!”

Then I saw his face once more. His eyes are teary and his fur is haggard, and most of all his expression is not of just a depressed person but of a person filled with regret. Then I hugged him and he hugs back.

“Sorry dad.” I told him.

“No. I am sorry.” Then I simply held my head down a bit then out of nowhere he pats me. I started to cry once more, it has been a long while since he patted my head.

“You are right. I have to get Rum, no matter what. Because if not then who will be those boys parents? Who will give you a home that you deserve and who will be there to love you?” then he lies down in his bed and I was beside him.

He was in front me and we cuddled tenderly. Then I smiled inward as he continues to remind me of when I was young. If I had a nightmare then they would let me sleep beside them.

We woke up after a few hours.

“Hi Ban.” I saw Harry in front of me. “Hi.” Then he rose up and he told me something that I will always remember. “You are right. I have to find the people I love because I love them. And nothing could change that.” Then he hugs me.

“Thank you, Ban. For believing in me and for making me realize my mistakes.” And I told him it’s nothing. Then he pats my head, “Let’s go my son.” I smiled and followed him, my tail wagging wildly.

Then we went back to the guild and we are met with three Leoans.

“Harry! Ban!” they gathered around us and Harry spoke up.

“Ban, he is a good one. Keep him and you may have our blessing.” As the younger version of my dad points at Alimun. And then Alimun blushes, as he seems to know something I don’t.

“Ban can you come with me for a sec.” I nodded and we went to a corner. “Your ‘rents went towards my room when we were having sex.” Then I started to be red as a beet. They heard all of that!? Oh this is just embarrassing. Your parents knew who their son’s boyfriend by hearing their son fucking around with another guy who turns out to be their friend.

Heck even though they are gay, this is just unbearable. I could just crawl under a rock and die. As cliché as that sounds, it is pretty accurate. And dad came to us.

“It’s ok. Besides we enjoyed the display.” And there I thought Dad Rum loves to play around like that. Turns out the sane parent does this too. Now this just wants me to bring out my blade and stab myself because they found the sounds of our mating erotic.

“I hate my life” I said to myself. Then Harry laughs his face off.

“Don’t worry. I won’t tell Rum that you are our future son.” Then I can have a bit of relief.

“I don’t get what’s going on.” Ku-uya told us. “Don’t worry. It’s nothin’” dad assured his friend and then King Anli spoke up.

“Can you come with us tomorrow Harry?” and the hare said “Gladly, your majes…”

Anli interrupted him and told dad “Call me Anli, please.” Then the hare nods “Anli.” As he finished his sentence. And then the day arrived.

Harry POV

The city of Staright is the capital of Falnure. I have only been to this city a few times but its sights never cease to amaze me. Every corner is a beautiful piece of architecture by the world’s greatest sculptors and mages. And just like Eldeow the atmosphere is friendly and sincere.

We made our way to the “Grand Guild Hall”. The place where guilds settle disputes, and where kings sometimes govern meetings themselves. Making sure that the kingdoms know what was going on.

“Welcome your Majesties. King Anli, Princes Ku-uya and Harry, Master Alimun.” A lady who I assume is the secretary bows. Then the king nods and told her that we are on our way to the meeting.

We arrived at the hall, and I have to say this is impressive. Blue crystals shine around the walls and center of the huge round table that could fit at least twenty. Then I saw a Boaran who seems to be a guild leader. A few humans with light armor and the one on the far most corner is a dragon-man that I am too skeptical to see here.

After a closer look I knew. It’s the king of Falnure himself: King Xelron. I am shocked that he is even attending this meeting. Then we took our seats, I am next to Anli and beside me is Ban who just smiled.

“Ok then. Now today I have brought Harry today and now we will recap on what we have learned.” Anli announced

“Please to have you your high…” then I stood up immediately.

“Before anything else, I would like to say something.” As I interrupted the others. “I am no prince here. I am just a man who is looking for his friend so please… Call me by my name.”

I found my friends smiling along with the kings. Then the others followed and nods, “Yes Harry. We welcome you here to this table as one of us.” The boar welcomed me with the other guild leaders.

I bowed to them and took my seat.

“Now may you read your sister’s letter?” the dragon asked. I gladly responded and opened the letter. Removing the royal seal and slowly taking a piece of paper out.

I cleared my throat and took a deep breath as I read the letter.

Dear brother,

            This letter serves as a warning of what is to come. Father is mad and driven with power that he forged an alliance with the Quicksilver. Jalkaw and Kazel fled the kingdom the moment you left the city.

            Mother joined them as they went to a place to safely hide and operate. Along with gathering information on the king’s plans. I have been sneaking around the meeting room and I found out that they are planning to get you in order for the people to be convinced that you are with them. But also I have learned that they are going to gather six weapons.

            And I believe Rum possesses one of the weapons they need to gather, then afterwards they are brainwashing children to train and serve under the king. And I fear that this is just only the beginning. Once the six weapons are secured they will now start their plans on conquering the kingdom.

            Please be safe at all costs. Don’t get caught because this is the only way that we will be able to save our kingdom and our country. And live for me, I can’t live my life knowing that you two are gone.

Then I took a deep breath as I ended reading the letter.

“They are after the weapons of existence. And we now can confirm that they will do anything just to be able to gather them and see to it that we have no chance of fighting back.” One of the human guild leaders concluded.

“Yes they are. But we need all six to be able to defeat them. And one of them is in their grasps already. We can’t waste any more time. We have to find all the rest before they do.” King Xelron now stood up.

“Listen well. This takes top priority; we approximately have a year left before they start their attacks so your quest now is to find all six weapons and rescue Aurum Barazan at all costs am I understood?” right after the king of Falnure points his hand on the door it opened.

“Meeting’s adjourned. Don’t tell anybody about this, they could try to stop us.” Anli reminded them. We all nodded and head towards the exit.

“You did great out there da… I mean Harry” as me and Ban walked side by side. Heading towards the exit of the building. I patted his head and he smiles, I felt his tail swatting me, as a sign that he enjoys the treatment.

Then we are called out by a guard.

“Excuse me? I believe you are Harry?” then I nod. The guard said that we are summoned by King Xelron. I nodded and he led us to the royal palace, the entire palace is made out of Magirite. A light bending crystal material that is said to be stronger than that of any metal in all of Falnure.

Then we eventually entered the main hall of the castle where the king who was wearing a simple gold robe was waiting and he smiles. He greeted us and told us that we have something to discuss in his balcony.

We followed to meet the sight of the entire city. It was a beautiful view, filled with joy, happiness and love that I cannot even describe.

“Harry, I believe you know that to your right is your son.” Then Ban was in shock. He never told anyone about his relationship with me and the only ones who know this is us and Alimun.

“How did you know this?” Ban asked the king.

“Because I too came from the land Ban came from, oh I meant his friend and him.” And then the dragon looked up to the sky.

“Alimun on the other hand has always been here but he has all of his memories from there. So then I am here to ask. Why are you here in this point of time, Ban?” then I saw Ban beads of sweat running down his fur.

Then he started screaming while he held his head.

“GAH!!”

“Ban! What’s wrong!?” then he just fainted.

“Seems he has not remembered everything yet. In fact he is clueless on who he is exactly.” Then I asked the king what is going on with Ban.

“That is something I cannot answer. But I can say that he has lost a part of him that has made him whole in the first place.” Then the dragon looked at me as he placed Ban on a chair.

“What would that be?!” and I am worried about my future son. Even if I do not know him, I know he is not lying. From the music he played from his fiddle. That song that Rum only knew how to play can only mean one thing, Rum and I are his parents.

“You remember the boy’s story?” I nodded. “He is the wolf that the boy befriended. The one who gave him life and also the other half of the boy’s soul and conscience.” Then he took a breath. “So if me and Rum never met the boy then that means.” I told the dragon who just hanged his head down.

“Yes you are catching on. He will slowly lose all of his memories but the worst part is that he will perish along with your future selves if you two do not meet. And the events that happened to Ban never happened. And Ovire finally won.”

“Ovire figured out a way to win. By making sure that everyone that can stand in his way never existed or in this case, made the others never meet his adversaries.”

“Then all of this is happening because this Ovire is pulling the strings!?” then the dragon nodded. “Then why does Ban have no memory that the boy had?” as I asked the question he told me something that must be kept to Ban at all costs.

“Because Ban’s other half faded away. Not until the Ovire of this time is defeated and you and Rum finally ended up together. Then and only then will he remember everything.” The dragon-man now looks at me with desperation.

“So please, save all of us.” Then I look at the dragon who bows before me. I told him to get up. “I intend to get my love and family back. So I will.” And Ban woke up. “Owww, my head.” Then I supported him.

“Easy now. Well bye.” I then went down with Ban towards the entrance of the palace. Then suddenly I see a purple haired man wearing a black cloak blocking the exit and he smiled in a dark way. “Well well, looks like the cat’s out of the bag.”

“Who are you!” then he said his name.

“I am Ovire. And I am afraid that I have to end your life right here right now.” Then he summoned out two floating black swords from a dark mist.

“YOU WILL PAY!” then I summoned my weapons as well. Enraged at what he let everyone let through. Ban, Rum, my students and everyone else who was dear to me. I cannot let this stand any longer!

“This shall be fun.” Ovire told me.
